Clinical Observation Of Quadruple Therapy In The Treatment Of Bell’s Palsy(Wind-Cold Syndrome)Based On The Theory Of " Strengthening Healthy Qi To Eliminating Evils "

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of quadruple therapy(conventional acupuncture,wenzhong-moxibustion,cupping therapy,acupoint catgut embedding)in the treatment of Bell’s palsy(wind-cold syndrome)based on the theory of "strengthening healthy qi to eliminating evils".Methods: 60 patients with Bell’s palsy syndrome were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,with 30 cases in each group.Both groups were given oral mecobalamin tablets as basic treatment,in addition,the treatment group was treated by quadruple therapy(conventional acupuncture,wenzhong-moxibustion,cupping therapy,acupoint catgut embedding)by stages,once a week,2 weeks as a course of treatment.The control group was treated by conventional acupuncture by stages,once a day,for 5consecutive days,and continued treatment after 2 days of rest.2 weeks was a course of treatment.According to the evaluation criteria of curative effect,it was cured,and the longest course was 4 courses.House-brackmann(H-B)facial nerve grading system rating,facial nerve grading system 2.0(FNGS2.0)score and facial disability index(FDI)score were recorded in each course of treatment.The changes of facial nerve function,physical function and social function in patients with different courses of treatment were observed before and after treatment.Each course of treatment was evaluated according to House-Brackmann(H-B)facial nerve grading system rating of the two groups,and the efficacy differences between the two groups were compared.Results:1.H-B rating analysis: intra-group comparison showed significant difference(P<0.05).There was significant difference between groups in each course of treatment(P<0.05).2.FNGS2.0 score analysis: intra-group comparison: the scores of both groups decreased significantly in each course of treatment(P<0.05);comparison between groups,scores of treatment group(12.67± 6.09,9.80±5.77,7.83±4.81,6.13±3.79)were lower than those of the control group(15.68±5.19,13.39±6.03,11.00±5.87,9.18± 5.42).the difference was significant(P<0.05).3.FDI score analysis:(1)FDIP score intra-group comparison: scores of both groups increased significantly in each course of treatment(P <0.05);The scores of the treatment group(19.00±4.10,20.80±4.08,22.23±3.45,23.30±2.76)each course were significantly higher than those of the control group(16.21±3.56,18.32±4.06,20.00±3.89,21.57±3.46).The difference was significant(P <0.05).(2)FDIS score: intra-group comparison:scores of both groups decreased significantly in each course of treatment,with significant difference(P <0.05);comparison between groups,scores of treatment group(15.67±4.08,14.13±3.97,12.77±3.53,11.43±2.50)were significantly lower than those of con-trol group(18.46±2.97,16.21±3.73,14.75±3.72,13.68±3.48).The difference was significant(P <0.05).4.Clinical efficacy analysis: after the end of the first course,5 patients in the treatment group were cured,and 0 patients in the control group,indicating that the treatment group could shorten the treatment course and reduce the treatment frequency;The comparison of efficacy of each course between the two groups: the clinical efficacy of different courses of the treatment group was better than that of the control group,and the difference was significant(P <0.05).After the total treatment course,the healing and noticeable effect rate of the treatment group and the control group was 86.67% and53.57%,respectively,and the difference was significant(P <0.05).Conclusion: Based on the theory of "strengthening healthy qi to eliminating evils",using quadruple therapy(conventional acupuncture,wen-zhong-moxibustion,cupping therapy and acupoint catgut embedding)staging treatment of Bell’s palsy,can obviously improve facial nerve function,clinical symptoms,physical function and social function,reduce the frequency of treatment,shorten the treatment course,used to be promoted.
