Objective: Hot and dry constipation is the most common type of constipation, and its clinical symptoms affect children’s growth and mental health to varying degrees. In view of the characteristics of children’s pain fear and drug resistance,it is increasingly urgent to seek a highly acceptable and effective treatment plan. Therefore, this study aims to observe the psychological impact of this disease on children and evaluate the clinical efficacy of massage combined with defecation habit training in the treatment of children with hot and dry internal knot constipation, hoping to provide a new idea for clinical treatment. Methods: A total of 60 children with functional constipation who met the inclusion criteria in the Children’s Clinic were chosen as the object of observation, from September 2021 to January 2022.On the basis of random number table method, children were adopted into control group and treatment group, with 30 cases in every group. The groups of children were psychologically assessed by using the Early Warning Signs Scale for Children’s Psychological Developmental Problems(referred to as Early Warning Signs)before treatment. The control group only received defecation habit training and basic treatment;the treatment group was combined with pediatric massage based on the treatment plan of the control group, and the treatment cycle was two courses(five days as one course). Before and after treatment time, compared the traditional medicine syndrome scores and clinical efficacy of the two groups of children and the evaluated the differences in the efficacy of the two groups of treatment programs.Results:(1)A total of 60 children were included in the clinical examination.Compared the general conditions(sex, age, and symptom scores before healing)of the groups of children and there was no significant difference(P >0.05),comparable;(2)The proportion of children in each age group in the two groups was18M-2Y 10%,2Y-2.5Y 27%,3Y-4Y 30%,4Y-5Y 10%,5Y-6Y 15%,6Y 8%(M=months,Y=years).The predisposing age of functional constipation in the children in this trial is between 2Y-2.5Y and 3Y-4Y,which is equivalent to the defecation training age;(3)Comparison of traditional medicine syndrome scores in the two groups before and after experiment proving that both intervention manipulations were effective in treating functional constipation(P<0.05).Further comparison of traditional medicine syndrome scores, symptom total score, and total effective rate between the two groups after treatment indicated that the experimental group was better than the control group, especially in the degree of defecation difficulty, abdominal distention and pain, lack of appetite for milk, heat in the hands, feet, and urination.Short yellow, red tongue with thick yellow coating;(4)The psychological and behavioral assessment of the two groups of children using the Early Warning Signs Scale of Children’s Psychological Development Problems indicated that some children with functional constipation had mental and behavioral developmental delays, and the abnormality of these children’s psychological behaviors mainly focused on language In terms of dimensions,it reached 8.30%,which is consistent with most studies.Conclusion:(1)For constipation with dryness and heat in children, massage combined with defecation habit training has a good clinical effect and can be used for clinical promotion;(2)Some children with functional constipation have mental and behavioral developmental disorders, mainly in the language dimension.
