| In the era of globalization,risk is no longer limited by national boundaries.Crisis communication may be accompanied by cross-border and cross regional characteristics.With the outbreak of COVID-19 epidemic,how mainstream media use overseas social media to carry out crisis communication is becoming a new strategic direction.During COVID-19 epidemic,the strategy of @PDChina Twitter report about COVID-19 epidemic which is based on the micro model of rhetorical arena theory and the crisis communication management paradigm,adopts an integrated method of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis.In Twitter area,@PDChina Twitter report about COVID-19 epidemic is faced with a double complex situation of external society and public psychology.The external situation is affected by the "partial decoupling" between China and the United States,the limited development of China’s mainstream media Twitter accounts,and the differences in the emergency management of social media between China and the United States.Foreign publics’ psychological presupposition towards COVID-19 epidemic is sandwiched between multiple subjects.The Trump administration’s attitude toward China is capricious.The mainstream media in the United States criticized China and did nothing to disseminate stigmatizing information about COVID-19 epidemic.WHO highly praised China’s fights against the epidemic.In this context,@PDChina’s response speed is the fastest and the report is simple and powerful.In the follow-up reports,@PDChina used graphics,short video,hyperlinks and other types to rich content.@PDChina Twitter report about COVID-19 epidemic contains communication strategies that follow the fact-value two-dimensional path.Under the fact path,it uses the informing strategy of constructing information issues,the dredging strategy of seeking cooperation and the differentiation strategy of constructing action issues.Under the value path,it uses the adaptation strategy of story narrative,the leading strategy of launching political mobilization and the reconstruction strategy of sending out wishes.Under the guidance of these strategies,the public agenda is almost consistent with the media,and their attitudes towards China have a positive trend in the practice of the value oriented strategy constructed by @PDChina.However,there is still a large-scale stigmatization spread in Twitter comment section,and the public’s trust crisis to the Chinese government has intensified.In the future,in response to the public health crisis,China’s mainstream media Twitter should focus on building the action framework of the Chinese government,and building a crisis response unity with mutual assistance issues.In the use of hashtags,they could develop Twitter hashtag strategy and use personalized hashtags to guide the discussion of controversial issues.They could also integrate Strategic Narrative,making Chinese stories better communicating in West countries.They should rely on medical and health experts to strengthen the attention and analyse public opinion to prevent the development trend of crisis "politicization". |
