| At the beginning of 2020,the COVID-19 epidemic broke out around the world,and there were many voices of criticism from the international community against China.In response to foreign stigmatization and labeling,China international television which is China’s first global English channel,adapt to the characteristics of the mobile media era,actively utilize the global mainstream new media websites and social platforms to provide a number of reports from the front line of China’s fighting against the epidemic,using the facts and China’s voice to fight against untrue foreign reports.This paper uses the research method of content analysis to analyze the reports of COVID-19 epidemic on the Twitter account of China International Television Station(CGTN)during the "closure" of Wuhan,and analyzes the reports of COVID-19 epidemic from the aspects of report content,report narrative and communication effect..The paper try to answer:which kind of narrative strategy is used?What about the communication effect?Is there any merit in epidemic reporting?This paper uses crawlers to capture the reported data of CGTN Twitter account in a construction week during the closure of Wuhan.A total of 401 tweets related to the outbreak were selected manually for the study.Supported by the framework theory,six categories of report quantity,report theme,report form,news source,report position and report language were designed for analysis.SPSS and Excel statistical analysis methods were used to effectively analyze the overall characteristics and phased changes of COVID-19 reports.This paper sorts out the narrative framework and narrative strategy of CGTN stwitter account during the period of "city closure" in Wuhan,and puts forward some possible suggestions to improve the communication effect.Narrative research shows that CGTN combines authoritative zero-focus perspective,real internal focus perspective,and objective external focus perspective to present a framework change for the story of China’s fight against the epidemic,the construction of a new international communication order,and the counterattack of smearing China’s reports.According to the analysis of the communication effect,real anti-epidemic stories are more likely to be favored by international users,The results of the analogy of opinion value are not good,and the official statement style refutation is not satisfactory.In view of CGTN’s Twitter account’s rigid discourse system,weak agendas setting ability and too many official sources,the paper suggests that CGTN take the initiative to change the discourse system,strengthen agendas setting,strengthen multiple narrative,innovate and personalized rumor reproof,and improve the communication effect of external media for improving epidemic reports. |
