AIDS is a major disease endangering human health. It has been listed as one of the key infectious diseases for prevention and control in China. In recent years, the number of male homosexual groups in colleges and universities infected with AIDS has gradually increased. This group has become a high-risk group for AIDS infection.Family as the basic unit of health intervention,it plays an important role in the prevention and treatment of this disease.Whether there are differences in family communication related to this issue under different cultural backgrounds, and how to cooperate with other social support in the context of family as a unit to carry out health interventions for this high-risk group has become the next issue that needs to be addressed urgently under the current Healthy China proposition..This study links Family Communication Patterns(FCPs)with social support theories, and uses semi-structured in-depth interviews to interview 19 college male homosexuals to discuss family communication patterns, social support inside and outside the family, and health behaviors related to AIDS prevention.Conduct in-depth interviews with issues such as concepts, use thematic analysis method to analyze interview data, and draw thematic maps of the dimensions and specific sources of social support acquisition under different family communication patterns,in order to further explore the relationship between the acquisition of social support inside and outside the family and the healthy sexual behavior of the group. The relative openness of qualitative research has allowed researchers to discover a new theme clue in data collection and analysis, that is,the issue of social support in social media platforms. From this, the researchers subsequently supplemented Blued, the largest gay social platform in China.Take interview with relevant leader to conduct exploratory research on the availability of social support on social media. The study found that the families of this high-risk group mainly present three communication patterns,pluralistic,laissez-faire,and consensual. This research also found that the traditional FCPs theory does not specifically emphasize the type, that is,the emergence of anti-consensual communication pattern. The thematic analysis results show that different family communication patterns will affect the acquisition of social support within the family;social support in the two dimensions of information and emotion will affect the healthy sexual behavior of the group;the main reasons for the low perception of the social support provided by social media such as Blued are the low individual risk perception and the insufficient optimization of Blued’s operating side.Based on the Chinese family culture, this research conducts a more in-depth study on the acquisition of social support inside and outside the family for male same-sex behaviors in colleges and universities, trying to make up for the research deficiencies in this field;at the same time,it is oriented to the AIDS health promotion of this group to explore, with the hope of making feasible suggestions for HIV health intervention.
