| Objective The aim of this study were to investigate and evaluate psychological status and quality of life in patients with Breast Cancer Related Lymphedema,and then analyze the impact of Breast Cancer Related Lymphedema on the patient’s psychological status and quality of life.It is expected that medical staff and patients will pay more attention to the prevention,treatment and care of Breast Cancer Related Lymphedema,which can also to provide basis for further studies on clinical intervention and psychological care.Methods In this study,a questionnaire survey was conducted.From December 2016 to July 2017,a number of postoperative patients of breast cancer who met the inclusion criteria were selected from Tertiary Hospitals in Zhejiang Province.Patients were divided into lymphedema group and non-lymphedema group,all of them were informed and voluntarily participated in this study.Using the general information questionnaire,the General Health Questionnaire(GHQ-20),and the Cancer Patients Quality of Life Questionnaire(EORTC QLQ-C30,QLQ-BR23)to investigate the patients’ psychological status and quality of life.Check the questionnaire,remove the invalid ones and code.After establishing the database with Epidata3.1 software,the data was processed and analyzed with SPSS23.0 software.The t-test,rank sum test,and chi-square analysis were used to compare the general data of the two groups,and the covariance analysis was used to compare the scores of the two groups of general health questionnaires and quality of life questionnaires.Results ①The score of depression of BCRL group were higher than those of the non-lymphedema group(P<0.05),indicating that lymphedema will aggravate the patient’s depression.②EORTC QLQ-C30 survey showed that the BCRL group scored lower in somatic function,role function,emotional function and cognitive function than non-lymphedema group(P<0.05).Meanwhile,in the dimensions of dyspnea,insomnia,constipation,diarrhea,and economic difficulty,BCRL group scored higher(P<0.05).③The investigation of EORTC QLQ-BR23 showed that the BCRL group scored higher in the areas of arm symptoms and side effects of systemic therapy than the non-lymphedema group(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in the scores of the functional dimensions and breast symptoms between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion BCRL will aggravate the patient’s melancholic mood,reduce the patient’s physical function,cognitive function and emotional function,and affect the role of the patient in daily work and life.This in turn will reduce the patient’s quality of life and increases physical and mental problems.In addition,BCRL increased the frequency of negative symptoms such as systemic side effects,arm symptoms,insomnia,as well as increasing the economic burden on patients.Medical staff should pay more attention to the daily life and psychological conditions of BCRL patients and increase their social support.At the same time,patients should be encouraged to adhere to the treatment and functional exercise in order to improve the treatment effect and satisfaction with themselves,and thus improve the patients’quality of life and promote their physical and mental health. |
