Chemical fertilizer plays an important role in the process of crop production. The continuous application of chemical fertilizer has gradually become an important means for farmers to increase the yield. However,at present, the situation of high fertilizer application amount and low comprehensive utilization rate is still common in our country, which not only increases the input cost of farmers’ production activities, but also brings great threat to the sustainable development of agriculture. The use of organic fertilizer instead of chemical fertilizer can not only improve the soil environment, reduce environmental pollution, but also improve the quality of agricultural products. To this end,in 2015,the former Ministry of Agriculture carried out the "zero-growth action of chemical fertilizer and pesticide" and in 2017,the "Pilot action of organic fertilizer replacement for fruit, vegetable and tea".Therefore, whether the above policies can change farmers’ production concept and encourage vegetable farmers to adopt organic fertilizer technology remains to be further discussed and tested. Therefore, this paper investigates the factors influencing the adoption of organic fertilizer technology by vegetable farmers, which has important practical significance for promoting the efficient utilization of livestock and poultry waste resources and realizing the sustainable development of agriculture. The purpose of this paper is to study the mechanism of the substitution of organic fertilizer for chemical fertilizer by facility vegetable growers and to seek effective measures to promote the adoption of organic fertilizer technology by facility vegetable growers.Based on the household survey data of 440 facility vegetable growers in Luoyang City and Jiaozuo City of Henan Province, the Heckman two-stage model was used to analyze the factors influencing the adoption behavior of organic fertilizer technology by facility vegetable farmers, including the "adoption" and "adoption degree".In order to ensure the robustness of the benchmark empirical results,Later,Logit model was used to verify the first stage, and tail-broken regression model was used to verify the second stage. In order to promote the adoption of organic fertilizer technology for vegetable growers in facilities policy suggestions. The results show that:(1)the surveyed farmers’ age structure is older and their education level is lower, which is basically consistent with the situation in rural areas of our country.Compared with ordinary fertilizer, the cost of organic fertilizer is higher, and the subsidy policy of organic fertilizer has a great influence on the behavior of vegetable growers to replace chemical fertilizer with organic fertilizer.Among the vegetable growers surveyed, most of them have adopted organic fertilizer instead of chemical fertilizer technology in the agricultural production process, but the proportion of organic fertilizer application is low.(2)The production environment suitable for the adoption of organic fertilizer technology will help to improve the willingness of vegetable growers in facilities to adopt organic fertilizer, and will also promote the adoption degree. From the perspective of different dimensions, the five dimensions all had different effects on organic fertilizer substitution behavior of vegetable growers. The first stage: the use cost of organic fertilizer, the number of family farming, the marketability of agricultural products, the recognition of the value of agricultural products, technical training and organic fertilizer subsidy policies had significant effects on the adoption of organic fertilizer technology by vegetable farmers; The second stage: the purchase cost of organic fertilizer, the use cost of organic fertilizer, the number of family farming, the scale of vegetable planting, the recognition degree of agricultural product value and the subsidy policy of organic fertilizer had a significant impact on the adoption degree of organic fertilizer technology by vegetable farmers.(3)Therefore,this paper proposes to innovate the way of technical training and broaden the channel of agricultural technical training; We will strengthen research and development of key technologies for organic fertilizers and improve subsidies for organic fertilizers.Increase the investment in vocational education in rural areas, establish farmers’ green production concept,so as to improve the adoption of organic fertilizer technology behavior of vegetable farmers.
