Establishment And Preliminary Application Of Reference Atlas Of Head,Hest And Abdomen Of Feline With Cone Beam CT

With the continuous development of pet treatment industry in recent years,Computed Tomography(CT)has been more common in large domestic animal hospitals.As a clinical imaging technique,CT is widely used in bone,chest,tumor and interventional therapy.As a high-end imaging technology in animal clinic,CT technology is also developing and innovating.Spiral CT is the most commonly used CT in animal clinic,32 and 64 are the most.As a developing direction of CT technology,Cone Beam CT(CBCT)is mainly used in stomatology,and there are many researches on oncology.Animal clinical cone beam CT application is in its infancy.There are professional CBCT equipment and manufacturers in our country,but there is no reference atlas of cone beam CT application in animal.Therefore,this paper takes the pet cat as the experimental object,uses the animal cone beam CT to carry on the flat scan to the head,chest and abdomen of the experimental cat.1、 Establishment of cat cone beam CT head,chest and abdomen reference atlasIn this experiment,the head,chest and abdomen of 1 year old short-haired cat were scanned by cone beam CT under compound anesthesia.Shooting conditions set to: Voltage 85 KV,Current 10 m A.Image reconstruction conditions: layer thickness0.24 mm,interval 0.24 mm,window position: 565,window width: 1815.After reconstruction,more than one hundred pictures were obtained in each part and each plane,from which representative section pictures were selected for atlas creation.We selected 10 transverse images,5 sagittal images,6 coronal images,4 VR images,18 transverse images,10 sagittal images,8 coronal images,3 VR images,13 transverse images,6 coronal images and 2 abdominal VR images.Each picture is labeled in detail and the corresponding reference atlas is created.Chest and abdomen images will produce artifacts due to breathing,heartbeat,intestinal peristalsis and other factors,which have a certain impact on image quality,there is room for improvement.But in the head skeleton,the vertebra and so on other skeleton development resolution high,the application prospect is broad.2、 Application of cone beam CT in clinical diagnosis and treatmentMethods Cone beam CT imaging was used to investigate the value of cone beam CT in clinical diagnosis and treatment of cats in Fuxin Animal Hospital.We selected 2cases of head,1 case of chest and 1 case of abdomen for analysis and summary.Head image showed clear bone lesions,three-dimensional,especially the cheek fracture line is clear,the fracture can be three-dimensional display.Chest lungs become contoured and well defined.The location and size of abdominal kidney stones can be measured directly.To sum up: CBCT atlas of cat head,chest and abdomen were created in this experiment,which showed that CBCT was effective and accurate in cat head complex bone structure and 3D reconstruction.The imaging results on thoracic and abdominal soft tissue are poor and need to be improved.It is suggested that CBCT can be used in the diagnosis of buccal fracture,jaw fracture,nasal cavity disease,pneumonia and renal calculus disease through 4 cases.The atlas can also provide a reference for clinical imaging diagnosis of small animals to improve the diagnostic rate of head,chest and abdominal diseases in cats.
