Research On The Management Of Public Information Resourcesin University Libraries

Nowadays the way that people can get information is no longer restricted to the traditional books or manuscripts.So far internet has become one of the main channel from which people acquire information under the promotion of internet technology and information science and technology.As the information center of the university library,its position and advantage has been weakened by the internet.So the existing circumstances force the university libraries to transform the mode from the tradition to the modern to adapt the social development.Therefore,the management ability of public information resources has become the key to the success of the transformation of University libraries.In order to improve the management of public information resources of university libraries,the paper,first closely combining with the new public management,new public service and information science theory.Then it has investigated the existing circumstances of public information resources management in ten universities of Fujian Province by using theoretical analysis and questionnaire survey.The results show that the basic services of public information resources in university libraries becomes more mature and personalized.The technique level of management is also constantly improving.However,there are still many problems for us to solve.There is a big gap in the management level of public information resources among university libraries.The resource coverage is still fragmentary and duplicated,for instance.The information is lagging behind.Lower utilization rate is also exist.Finally,the paper's aim is to improve the management ability of public information resources in University libraries.Therefore,through in-depth analysis of the existing problems,combined with the author's work experience,this paper puts forward some suggestions for improvement: first,to improve the management mode;second,to optimize the distribution of resources;third,to build a communication platform;fourth,to provide readers with comprehensive information services.
