Since the founding of New China, especially after the reform and opening up,the level of education in China has been significantly improved, and compulsory education has also been popularized, but there is still a certain gap in the level of education between the Tibet Autonomous region and the mainland.Education as a direct investment in human capital, the level of education will be restricted by the livelihood level of herdsmen families,so the research on children's education in Tibet is very important.Based on the survey data of 215 herdsmen in 34 villages in eight counties of Nagchu,Shigatse,Qamdo and Nyingchi,Tibet Autonomous region, this paper uses empirical model to further explore the impact of livelihood capital on the education of school-age children. The results show that:(1)The overall education level of parents in non-dropout families is higher than that of dropout families;the overall health level of family members is also higher.Non-dropout families have more government workers, have higher annual incomes and are less likely to borrow;dropout families are farther away from temples and spend more on religion.(2)On the basis of sustainable livelihood analysis framework, considering the influence of religion in the study area, religion is separated from social capital and religious capital is constructed. The analysis of livelihood capital in the study area shows that social capital and human capital are lower in dropout families, while human capital and natural capital are lower in non-dropout families.(3)The results of regression analysis show that parents' education level has a positive impact on their children's education results.Families with higher family income and less loans have a lower probability of dropping out of school, and religious capital has less influence on herdsmen's educational decisions.(4)after dividing the herdsmen according to the educational stage, the results show that human capital has a significant impact on children's education in primary school, junior middle school and senior high school, while religious capital has a weak influence on children in junior middle school. Finally, according to the conclusion, the corresponding policies and suggestions are put forward from the perspective of herdsmen's livelihood capital: increase investment in ethnic education, and develop Han and Tibetan education according to local conditions;Change the mode of production, improve labor efficiency;Vigorously protect national culture and promote positive ideas.
