ObjectiveTo study and discuss how the specificity of imaginary working affects the sleep quality of introvert and extrovert personality college students,subject to a comparison of sleep quality index between introvert and extrovert college students who have received or have not received imaginary working training and the changes of P-band EEG power spectrum in different brain regions at different stages of imaginary working training,by using EEG synchronous monitoring technology and parallel blank control method.Methods88 college students were recruited,according to the inclusion and exclusion criterion,among whom 30 introverts and 24 extroverts were selected by using Eysenck Personality Questionnaire.54 people were divided into experimental group and control group according to the proportion of 1:1.According to different dimension of introversion and extroversion,15 introverts and 12 extroverts were selected in each group.The experimental group received imaginary working training on the theme of "the sunshine in spring warms my body",which contains "centralized training","counseling training" and "independent training",nevertheless the control group did neither.Record the sleep quality of the two group by using the method of parallel blank control at the 3 time point "before centralized training","after counseling training" and "after independent training",monitor the β-band EEG power data synchronously and make a statistical analysis by using the SPSS 24.0 software.ResultsBefore imaginary working,the degree of sleep disorder of introvert personality college students is more serious than that of extrovert college students;There was no significant difference inβ-band EEG power(P>0.05)and also no difference in leads power between introverts and extroverts,and the EEG power of extroverts was higher than that of introverts.After imaginary working counseling training,it takes on a significant difference in the PSQI scores of introvert college students(P<0.05)between the experimental group and the control group.The PSQI score in the experimental group decreased,while the score increased in the control group.There was a significant difference found in the power of β-band EEG in FC4,CP4,O1 between the two groups(P<0.05),and an extremely significant difference in F3 leads power(P<0.01).Among groups,the score of FC4,CP4,F3 leads power in experimental group were lower than which in the control group,and score of O1 leads power in experimental group was higher than that in the control group.There was no significant difference in the PSQI scores of extrovert college students between the two groups(P>0.05),and the PSQI scores decreased.There was a significant difference found in the score of control group before and after imaginary working(P<0.05),and the PSQI score decreased significantly.As for β-band EEG power,there was no significant statistic difference between the two groups in the extrovert college students(P>0.05),and no significant difference in leads power(P>0.05).Significant differences in β-band EEG power of C3 and O1 leads in the experimental group(P<0.05)were taken out in the introvert and extrovert college students after the receiving the training.and the EEG power of introverts was higher than that of extroverts.After imaginary working independent training,the PSQI scores of introverts and extroverts in experimental groups decreased ulteriorly.As for the β-band EEG power,there was a significant statistic difference(P<0.05)in introverts found in F3,A2 and O1 compared with that in counseling training stage.The leads power in F3 increased,while A2 and O1 decreased.There was a significant statistic difference(P<0.05)in extroverts found in leads power of FP1.The leads power in FP1 decreased.The average power of the whole brain leads power in β-band was increased in introverts,while was decreased in extroverts after receiving the training.ConclusionsImaginary working can improve the sleep quality of introvert and extrovert personality college students in different degrees.Imaginary working can increase β-band EEG power of introverts,and decrease the power of extroverts.No matter introverts or extroverts,β-band EEG power of each lead tended to approach,forming an equilibrium state in brain,which has showed out the effect of "to calm down the mind "by the virtue of imaginary working and such effect can promote the improvement of sleep quality.
