| Objective: The purpose of this study was to document a questionnaire on the status of nurses’ knowledge, attitude and practice of the nutritional support for stroke patients and test its reliability and validity,to understand the knowledge, attitude and practice level of clinical nurses in stroke related departments of secondary and higher general hospitals in Sichuan province for nutritional support of stroke patients and find out its influencing factors. Methods: Following the guidelines of cognitive theory and the knowledge, attitude and practice theory,a questionnaire on the status quo of nurses’ knowledge, attitude and practice of nutritional support for stroke patients was drafted by literature review and Delphi expert letter consultation.According to the objective sampling method, electronic questionnaire survey was carried out among nurses in stroke patient departments of 17municipal(prefecture)secondary and higher general hospitals in Sichuan Province.Descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were applied to analyze the data, based on which the influencing factors of nurses’ knowledge, confidence and practice of nutritional support for stroke patients were discussed. Results: The questionnaire on nurses’ knowledge, attitude and practice of nutritional support for stroke patients contained 3 dimensions and 45 items in total. The overall Cronbach’s ? coefficient of the questionnaire was 0.944,the Cronbach’s ? coefficient of knowledge, attitude and behavior were 0.863,0.935 and 0.960,the half-reliability coefficient was 0.768,0.843 and 0.938,and the S-CVI/Ave of the questionnaire was 0.99.S-/UA was 0.96,I-CVI ranged from 0.80 to 1.00.The status of nurses’ knowledge, attitude and behavior of nutritional support for stroke patients: the standardized scores of nurses’ knowledge, attitude and behavior of nutritional support for stroke patients were48.31±9.95,85.87±13.86 and 76.15±17.58,respectively.The main influencing factors of nurses’ knowledge of nutritional support for stroke patients were hospital level(β=-14),first degree(β=2.7),knowledge level of learning nutritional support(β=-3.0),learning path(special lecture β=2.4).The main influencing factors of nurses’ attitude to nutritional support for stroke patients were as follows: specialist nurses(β=2.6),nutritional support included in quality control management of department(β=2.8),learning path(special lectures β=2.4),total score of knowledge(β=0.2);The main influencing factors of nurses’ behavior of nutritional support for stroke patients were the level of hospitals(β=-19.1),the nutritional support within the management of quality control(β=2.8),knowledge level of learning nutritional support(studied but not comprehensive β=-6.0,not studied β=-9.3),learning path(nutrition books β=2.4,thematic lectures β=2)4),nutritional assessment(β=5.2),knowledge score(β=0.13),attitude score(β=0.60).Pearson analysis showed that knowledge, attitude and behavior were positively correlated(r =0.148,0.205,0.523).Conclusion: The questionnaire exhibits good reliability and validity, and is applicable to evaluate nurses’ knowledge, confidence and practice of nutritional support in stroke patients.Nurses in secondary and higher general hospitals in Sichuan province have a certain understanding of nutritional support for stroke patients, but their knowledge is not comprehensive, systematic and accurate.Nurses have a positive attitude and good behavior toward the nutritional support for stroke patients. There should be more training on nurses’ nutritional support knowledge,so as to guide them to carry out personalized and characteristic nutritional support nursing for stroke patients. |
