Objective:To compare the short-term efficacy effects of intestinal stenting combined with surgery and direct surgery in the treatment of left-sided colorectal cancer with complete intestinal obstruction.Method:According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,a total of 101 patients with left-sided colorectal cancer combined with complete intestinal obstruction who were treated in our hospital from January 2017 to October2021 were collected.According to different treatment methods, patients were divided into stent combined operation group(referred to as "stent group")and traditional operation group(referred to as "operation group").Among them,54 patients in the stent group were successfully implanted with intestinal stents and effectively relieved the obstruction, then underwent surgery within a limited period of time. There were 47 cases in the operation group, the surgery was performed directly when the conservative treatment was ineffective or after peritonitis. There were no significant differences between the two groups in age, gender, past history(hypertension, diabetes, smoking, drinking, etc.),tumor location, tumor stage, etc.(P >0.05).The operation time, number of lymph nodes dissected during operation, postoperative complications(incision infection, anastomotic leakage, postoperative bleeding, postoperative intestinal obstruction, etc.),average hospitalization days, and average hospitalization expenses were collected.Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS26.0 software.Result:(1)The number of lymph nodes dissected during the operation and the endoscopic surgery rate in the stent group were higher compared to the surgery group, while the stoma rate, average length of stay, and average hospitalization expenses were lower than those in the operation group, and the differences were statistically significant.(P <0.05).(2)There was no significant difference in incision infection, anastomotic leakage, pulmonary infection, postoperative intestinal obstruction, total complication rate and operation time between stent group and operation group.(P>0.05).Conclusion:(1)For colorectal cancer patients with complete intestinal obstruction, intestinal stenting combined with surgery can increase the number of lymph node dissections, reduce the stoma rate, and reduce the length of hospitalization and hospitalization costs.(2)For colorectal cancer patients with complete intestinal obstruction,Intestinal stenting combined with surgery has no significant effect on postoperative complications.(3)When selecting the treatment method for colorectal cancer patients with complete intestinal obstruction, comprehensive analysis of the patient’s condition is required to achieve the best treatment for individual patients;for patients with high surgical risk,SEMS,as transition therapy,is an effective treatment.
