Objective: In this study,by comparing the effects of Kinesio Tape(KT)and Compression Shorts(CS)on Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness(DOMS).To understand the relieving effect of KT and CS on the peak period of DOMS,to study the effect of KT and CS on pain level,blood index,and muscle strength,and to explore which way of KT and CS can promote the recovery of muscle soreness,muscle strength,and physical performance.Methods: Thirty-two recruited subjects were randomly assigned to Control Group(CG),Kinesio Tape Group(KTG),and Compression Shorts Group(CSG).Compression Shorts Kinesio Tape Group(CSKTG)consists of four groups of eight people.DOMS mold making adopts the classic jump box mold making method.CG has no other intervention except mold making.KTG is bonded,CSG wears compression shorts,and CSKTG uses CS and KT at the same time.Subjects’ subjective pain level was measured by Visual Analogue Scale/Score(VAS),blood indexes serum Creatine Kinase(CK),serum Interleukin 6(IL-6),Peak Torque/Body Weight(PT/BW),Total Work(TW),and Work Fatigue(WF)of the knee joint were used to analyze the effect of KT and CS on the remission of DOMS and explore the possible mechanism.SPSS22.0 was used for statistical analysis.Results:(1)Pain index: the pain value reached the highest in all groups 24 hours after the end of modeling,and generally showed a trend of first increasing and then decreasing.Within the group,CSG and KTG groups were significantly higher than those of the same group at 24 h and significantly lower than those of the same group at48 h and 72h(P < 0.05),CSKTG at 24 h was significantly higher than that immediately after modeling;CG at 24 h,48h,and 72 h was significantly higher than that immediately after modeling(P < 0.05).KTG and CSG groups were significantly lower than the control group at each time point(P < 0.05),CSKTG at 24 h and 48 h were lower than CSG and KTG(P < 0.05).(2)Blood indicators,CK: immediately,24 h and 48 h after intervention,the CSG,KTG,and CSKTG compared with the CG;There were statistically significant differences between the CSKTG and the KTG(P<0.05).IL-6: 24 h after intervention,the CSKTG was compared with the KTG and the CG;48h after intervention: the CSKTG compared with the CSG and the CG,and the KTG compared with the CG;The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).(3)Isokinetic muscle strength indicators,(1)PT/BW,CG at 24 h and 48 h were significantly lower than baseline(P< 0.01);CSG group was significantly lower at 24 h than group baseline(P< 0.01),there was no significant difference from baseline at 48 h and 72 h.KTG and CSKTG showed no significant difference from baseline immediately.24 h after the intervention,CG was significantly different from the other three groups(P< 0.05);48h after the intervention,there was a statistically significant difference between CSKTG and CG(P< 0.05);72h after the intervention,KTG and CSKTG showed statistically significant differences compared with CG(P< 0.05).(2)TW value,CG value at 24 h after the intervention was significantly different from the baseline value(P< 0.05);Intergroup comparison,24 h after the intervention,CG was statistically significant compared with the other three groups(P< 0.05).(3)WF value and CG value at 24 h,48h,and 72 h after modeling were significantly different from the baseline value(P< 0.05);CG at 24 h after modeling was significantly different from that immediately after modeling(P< 0.05);Intergroup comparison,24 h,and 48 h after the intervention,KTG,and CSKTG compared with CG were statistically significant(P<0.05);72h after the intervention,the difference between CSKTG and KTG was statistically significant(P< 0.05).Conclusion: KT combined with CS intervention can relieve the DOMS pain,accelerate the recovery of muscle strength,and shorten the recovery time after DOMS.KT combined with CS intervention can improve the level of blood CK after DOMS,accelerate the recovery rate of IL-6,promote the repair of tissue micro-damage,reduce the stress response level of the body and reduce the degree of inflammation.KT combined with CS is more obvious in the recovery of DOMS,KT is better than CS in the recovery of DOMS.
