ObjectiveTo analyze the current situation and changing trend of blood collection and supply in Laiwu area,to master the distribution characteristics and blood test results of unpaid blood donors in Laiwu area,to find out the main blood donation sources in Laiwu and to strengthen recruitment from low-risk groups. To understand the awareness and motivation of blood donation among unpaid blood donors, and to provide corresponding countermeasures for improving the awareness of blood donors and stabilizing the number of blood donors.Method1.Data of blood collection and supply in Laiwu area from 2003 to 2017 were collected, including the number of whole blood and platelet collection, blood supply of various com-ponents,distribution characteristics of blood donors in different years, and the characteristics of blood test results of this population.2.The general data of the volunteer blood donors from January 2018 to June 2018 were collected through questionnaires, and the knowledge of volunteer blood donation, the way of blood donation and the motivation of blood donation were analyzed.Result1.The basic situation of free blood donation in Laiwu area:(1)From 2003 to 2010,the number of whole blood and the total amount of whole blood showed an upward trend, reaching the peak in 15 years in 2010,then began to decline in 2011.In 2014,the number and total amount of whole blood dropped to the lowest level between 2011 and 2014,and the development in the past three years was relatively flat.(2)From 2003 to 2017,the number of platelet collectors and platelet collectors increased year by year.(3)By comparing the increase of blood collection and clinical blood consumption, the increase of erythrocyte blood consumption in clinic is obviously larger than that of whole blood collection. The blood consumption of platelets and the amount of platelets collected can basically maintain a balance.(4)The proportion of fixed blood donors increased year by year, reaching 43.46% in 2017.The proportion of people who donate 400 ML blood at a time has remained above 50%.2.Laiwu blood donors are mainly male,26~45 years old, workers and farmers, high school and junior high school. In the development trend of each age group,18~25 age group and 26-35 age group showed a downward trend, while 36-45 age group and 46~55age group showed a rising trend. In Laiwu area,B blood group was the most,AB blood group was the least, and the proportion of four blood groups was 3:3:3:1.3.In the blood donation cognitive survey, the average score of 9 blood donation knowledge was 6.01,and the standard deviation was 1.12.The score of blood donation knowledge was positively correlated with educational level(F = 8.560,P < 0.001).There was also a certain correlation with the permanent residence and occupation, and the difference was statistically significant(P< 0.05).4.Among the blood donors surveyed,39.46% of them knew about unpaid blood donation through traditional media such as TV and radio.Secondly,34.23% of them met with blood collection trucks by chance. There were statistical differences among different habitats, different forms of blood donation and different age groups in the results of the investigation on the way of free blood donation(P < 0.05).5.In the survey of motivation of blood donation, the first motivation of blood donation was to help others and be grateful to society(82.10%).The results of the investigation on the motive of blood donation in different times, forms and ages showed significant difference(P< 0.05).6.In the blood donation cognitive survey, the average score of 9 blood donation knowledge was 6.01± 1.12.Gender,education level, frequency of blood donation, support and participation of family members and propaganda methods were the influencing factors of blood donation knowledge score, and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).Conclusion1.The increase of whole blood collection is increasing year by year, and the rate of unqualified blood test is decreasing year by year, but it still can not catch up with the increase of clinical blood use.2.Male,26~45 years old, high school education, workers and farmers are the main blood donors in Laiwu area.Women and students are low-risk blood donors in Laiwu area.3.The main motives of blood donors in Laiwu area are "helping others and thanking society","donating blood is beneficial to health" and "personal sense of honor".The motivation of blood donation varies with the number of donations, age and form of donation.4.The blood donors in Laiwu area learned that the main ways of blood donation were traditional media such as TV and radio, and accidental encounters with blood collection trucks.Different habitats, different blood donation forms and different ages have different ways of receiving blood donation.5.Gender,education level, frequency of blood donation, support and participation of family members and propaganda methods are the factors influencing the cognition of blood donors in Laiwu area.
