| Objective To explore the characteristics of different subtypes of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD)in the fourth edition of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, and to analyze the related factors.Method This study is a retrospective study. The age of the first consultation in the Pediatric Neurorehabilitation Department of Putian Children’s Hospital from June 2019 to December 2020 is selected to be 6-16 years old, which is in line with the fourth edition of the "Diagnosis and Statistics Manual of Mental Disorders" For children diagnosed with ADHD in(Diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders, fourth edition,DSM-Ⅳ),exclude other mental disorders, neurological diseases such as epilepsy, mental retardation, brain organic diseases, major physical diseases and parents have past or current mental disorders.A total of 103 children were included in the ADHD group,of whom 45 belonged to ADHD-C,31 to ADHD-HA and 27 to ADHD-I.At the same time, children who came to the outpatient health checkup at the same time and did not meet the ADHD diagnosis were selected, other diseases were excluded, and a total of 63 children were enrolled in the normal control group. The children in the ADHD group and the normal control group were assessed through WISC-Ⅳ,and demographic data of the two groups were collected at the same time, including gender, age, ethnicity, whether or not they were only children, birth history(with or without history of asphyxia at birth, birth whether the child was born smoothly or prematurely),whether the children have picky eating habits in daily life, the relationship with classmates in school life, and the education level of parents.Result Children with ADHD were compared with normal controls in terms of demographics.Scores of WISC-Ⅳ in ADHD group and normal control group was analysed. There were differences in Working Memory Index and Processing Speed Index between the two groups(P < 0.05).Scores of WISC-iv in different subtypes of ADHD children was different in PSI(P < 0.05),especially in ADHD-I group.Using PSI as the dependent variable,we found that there were significant differences in normal delivery, preform delivery and maternal education(P < 0.05).To investigate the correlation factors of PSI in children with ADHD,the results found that normal delivery, premature delivery and mother’s education level could affect PSI in children with ADHD.Normal delivery,non-premature delivery and mothers’ education may be the protective factors of PSI in children with ADHD.Conclusion The children in the ADHD group mainly showed defects in working memory and processing speed, while the weaknesses in the processing speed in the ADHD-I group were particularly prominent.Normal delivery,non-premature delivery, and the mother’s high education are the protective factors for the processing speed index of ADHD children.ADHD children can use WISC-Ⅳ to find problems as early as possible, and to conduct targeted training for the key issues, which can alleviate parents’ concerns about the long-term prognosis of children with ADHD,and can also assist clinicians in formulating individualized treatment plans for families.Education provides an objective basis. |
