Working Memory Of Children With ADHD In Different Syndrome Types

ObjectiveThis study focused on the difference of working memory among different syndrome types, to explore whether the TCM syndrome type and working memory defects exist specific contacts.MethodsThis research included 76 cases from October 2013 to February 2015 in pediatric ADHD specialist outpatient in the first affiliated hospital of guangzhou university of TCM according to the inclusion criteria. Using neuropsychological method N-back software to detect visual-spatial working memory, and analysing the differences of the correct and the correct reaction time of 2-back in the N-back task by statistical methods. Then to discuss the relationship between the common syndrome types and working memory.ResultsThe three TCM syndrome types had different working memory, both the correct and the correct reaction time of 2-back had obiviously significant differences among the three(P<0.05). The correct of the kidney liver and heart-spleen insufficiency are lower than that of the phlegm heat disturbance type, and the correct reaction of the kidney liver and heart-spleen insufficiency are faster than that of the phlegm heat disturbance type. However, each two further comparison, kidney liver compared with heart-spleen insufficiency, there was no statistical significance(P>0.05).ConclusionADHD children in different syndrome types have shown different working memory defects, especially for kidney liver, heart-spleen insufficiency in the commom three syndrome types.
