Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of acupuncture at ST36(zusanli)acupoint on sub-health status youth and the skin temperature change in this acupoint area, the characteristics of the temperature change at skin acupoint during the acupuncture process were studied to provide a basis for the clinical use of this acupoint. Methods: Thirty young subjects with yang-deficiency constitution and subhealth status and 30 young subjects with qi-deficiency constitution and subhealth status were recruited and divided into treatment group I(subjects with qi-deficiency constitution)and treatment group II(subjects with yangdeficiency constitution)according to their different TCM constitutions. Both groups were treated with the same intervention method: direct puncture of 0.75 to 1.0 inch at ST36(zusanli),once a day,Acupuncture was performed for 6days with 1 day of rest, and every 7 days was a course of treatment.During the period of needle retention, there was no manual operation, and two courses of treatment were continued.Sub-health fatigue scale and Chinese medicine constitution assessment scale were used as the efficacy evaluation criteria to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of the treatment.During the first and last treatment, the skin temperature changes of ST36(zusanli)acupoint area of the two groups of subjects were observed in the resting stage, acupuncture and the aftereffect stage, and the influence of acupuncture on the acupoint temperature, the correlation between sub-health state and TCM constitution state and the acupoint temperature were analyzed by intra-group and inter-group comparison. Results: 1.During the process,a total of three patients fell off(2 in the treatment I group and 1 in the treatment II group). The total fall-off ratio was5.0%,less than 10%.The number of completed cases was 57(28 in the treatment I group,29 cases in the treatment II group).2.After treatment in this clinical study,15 cases were cured in the treatment I group,8 cases were clinically improved. The total effective rate was 82.1%,which was higher than 69.0% in the treatment II group. The total effective rate in the treatment I group was significantly better than that in the treatment II group. The recurrence frequency and TCM constitution score of the two groups were improved before and after treatment, but the improvement degree of the treatment I group was significantly better than that of the treatment II group(P <0.05),with a significant statistical difference.3.Acupuncture of ST36(zusanli)acupoint in sub-healthy youth causes the temperature of this acupoint area to drop.First treatment: There was no statistical difference in the temperature of the acupoint area between the yang-deficiency and qi-deficiency substances after 40 min and 30 min calm rest(P >0.05).The temperature of the acupoint area decreased after 10 min acupuncture retention, showing a statistical difference(P<0.05).The temperature of the acupoint area dropped to the lowest value after 30 min acupuncture retention(P<0.05).The temperature of the acupoint area was maintained at the temperature when the needle was kept for 30 min after the injection, and there was a statistical difference in the temperature of the acupoint area when the needle was resting for 40min(P<0.05).At last treatment: There was no statistical difference in the temperature of the acupoint area between the Yang-deficient and qi-deficient substances after 40 min calm rest and 30 min calm rest(P >0.05),and there was statistical difference in the temperature of the acupoint area after 30 min acupuncture retention(P<0.05),and there was statistical difference in the temperature of the acupoint area after 10 min acupuncture withdrawal(P<0.05).The temperature of the acupoint area decreased after 20 minutes of acupuncture release compared with that after 40 minutes of calm rest, but there was no statistical difference(P<0.05).Compared with qi-deficient subjects, the skin temperature of yang-deficient subjects decreased more significantly at resting, acupuncture and afte reffect stages during the first treatment. The changes of skin temperature in the subjects with qi-deficiency and yang-deficiency during resting, acupuncture and aftereffects were basically the same at the last treatment.4.In the first and last treatment, the temperature of qi-deficiency was slightly higher than that of yang-deficiency after rest, but there was no statistical difference(P <0.05).In the first treatment, the temperature of the acupoint area of qi-deficiency was higher than that of qi-deficiency when the needle was kept for 30 min, with a statistical difference(P<0.05).In the last treatment, the temperature of the acupoint area of the qi-deficiency was slightly higher than that of the qi-deficiency when the needle was kept for30 min, with no statistical difference(P<0.05).Conclusions:1.Acupuncture at ST36(zusanli)is a safe and effective method to improve sub-health state and biased TCM constitution.2.The curative effect of acupuncture at ST36(zusanli)acupoint on subjects with sub-health state of qi-deficient constitution is better than that of subjects with sub-health state of yang-deficient constitution.3.Acupuncture caused the decrease of skin temperature in ST36(zusanli)acupoint area of young people in yang-deficient and qi-deficient sub-health state. After treatment, the decreasing range and duration of skin temperature in acupoint area caused by acupuncture were shortened.4.Before treatment, the change of skin temperature in the acupoint caused by acupuncture was more obvious. After treatment, the changes of skin temperature in the acupoint area of yang-deficiency and qi-deficiency were basically the same.
