1 Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of warm needling moxibustion on IBS-D with spleen deficiency and dampness excess syndrome patients by observing the changes of TCM syndrome scores,IBS-SSS and IBS-QOL scores before the treatment and after the treatment.2 MethodsAccording to random number table method,60 patients of IBS-D with spleen deficiency and dampness excess syndrome were divided into treatment group and control group. There were 30 patients in each group. Two groups were treated with the same acupoints selection and once a day.Warm needling moxibustion was applied in the treatment group.Acupuncture was applied in the control group.Acupuncture and moxibustion for 6 consecutive days as a course of treatment,a total of 4 courses,1 day rest between the courses. To observe and record the TCM syndrome scores, every single scores of the TCM syndrome scores,IBS-SSS and IBS-QOL scores of each patient before and after the treatment,as well as the changes of ECG,blood routine, stool routine +OB,liver and kidney function and other safety indexes. The efficacy indexes were statistically analyzed and compared.3 ResultsTCM syndrome scores and every single scores after the treatment were significantly lower than the scores before the treatment in the treatment group(P<0.01).TCM syndrome scores and single scores such as sloppy diarrhea, abdominal pain, onset or aggravation after fatigue, mental fatigue and loss of appetite after the treatment were lower than the scores before the treatment in the control group(P<0.05 or P<0.01),but there was no significant improvement in the single scores of onset or aggravation after catching cold(P > 0.05).IBS-SSS scores after the treatment were significantly lower than the scores before the treatment in the treatment and control group(P<0.01).Whlie IBS-QOL scores were significantly higher(P<0.01).TCM syndrome scores and every single scores of the two groups were statistically significant when the treatment was finished(P<0.05 or P<0.01).The results indicated there were better curative effects that the treatment group had on improving the efficacy of TCM syndromes and reducing every single scores than the control group of IBS-D with spleen deficiency and dampness excess syndrome patients. There were significant differences in IBS-SSS and IBS-QOL scores between the two groups when the treatment was finished(P<0.05,P<0.01).The results indicated there were better curative effects that the treatment group had on improving the severity of irritable bowel syndrome and the quality of life of irritable bowel syndrome. After the treatment, the effective rate of the treatment group was higher than the control group(P<0.05).4 ConclusionWarm needling moxibustion can significantly improve the clinical symptoms of sloppy diarrhea, abdominal pain, onset or aggravation after fatigue, onset or aggravation after catching cold, mental fatigue and loss of appetite of diarrhea irritable bowel syndrome with spleen deficiency and dampness excess syndrome patients. The efficacy is better than acupuncture. And warm needling moxibustion can effectively improve the severity and the quality of life of irritable bowel syndrome, and it is a safe and effective clinical treatment.
