Objective:To explore the feasibility of acupotomy in the treatment of flexion spasm of knee after stroke,we made a study by comparing the therapeutic effects between acupotomy therapy and general acupuncture in this disease. With the using of Modified Ashworth scale(MAS)and Fugl—Meyer knee-joint assessment(FMKA),we assess the instant and distant therapeutic effects on samples to provide the rationale in the treatment of flexion spasm of knee after stroke Methods:By applying simple randomization,we divided filtered subjects(67)into two groups, the control group(33)and the experimental group(34).Both sides adopted essential drug therapy and rehabilitation training, and general acupuncture to control group while acupotomy to experimental group. We used Modified Ashworth Scale and Fugl—Meyer Knee-joint Assessment to evaluate the recovery of knee-joint spasm and motor function. The operational method of acupotomy was debonding the anterior and posterior muscle groups of knee-joint.The experiment lasted for 2 months, included trial intervention and subsequent observation for 1 month each. The trial intervention contained 4 courses of treatment, each course lasted for 7 days.We recorded and assessed the condition of patients’ knee-joint recovery before the treatment, after the first intervention, after 2 courses,4 courses and 1month after the treatment. Results:Before the experiment, the general information such as age gender and course in the two groups was statistically tested and the difference was not significant(P>0.05).1 day after first intervention,By comparing the grade of MAS and FMKA in the two groups, the therapeutic effect of acupotomy was superior to acupuncture,in the aspects of muscle spasm recovery and the improvement of knee-joint function. The reult was statistical valid(P<0.05),which indicated that acupotomy therapy has a better instant effect on the recovery of muscle spasm and the improvement of knee-joint function. After 4 courses of treatment, there was a dramatic improvement on the grades of MAS and FMKA in both groups. The data showed no significant change in both groups(P<0.05),and it was also not significantly different between the two groups(P<0.05).The result showed that the therapies of acupotomy and general acupuncture are all capable of treating the flexion spasm of knee after stroke, and acupotomy is more superior.1 month after treatment, the grades of MAS in both groups were dropped in a extent, which was statistically valid(P<0.05).the grades of FMKA in both groups were improved, and there was no significant difference(P<0.05)[3].The result testified that both acupotomy and general acupuncture can provide a stable distant therapeutic effects, and acupotomy is more superior. In terms of action mechanism,we analyzed that the treatment of knee flexion spasm after stroke is related to the restoration of the mechanical balance of the anterior and posterior fascia system of the knee joint, and the cause of traditional Chinese medicine is related to the foot solar bladder meridian and Yang seesaw pulse lesions.Conclusion:1.Traditional acupuncture and acupotomy therapy have certain effect on knee flexion spasm after stroke2.Acupotomy treatment has a significant effect on improving the increased muscle tension of knee flexion and spasm after stroke. The immediate, recent and long-term effects are better than conventional acupuncture3.Acupotomy treatment also has significant effects on improving the knee-joint motor functionknee of flexion type spasm after stroke. The immediate, recent and long-term effects are also better than conventional acupuncture...
