The COVID-19 outbreak, which began in late 2019,has spread to become a major global public health event with incalculable political, economic and cultural impact.During the epidemic period, data disclosure and media convergence have promoted the further development of data journalism. It is of great significance to study data journalism from the perspective of news narratology for telling good news stories and meeting the needs of audiences.Based on the research value and representativeness of the research objects, this paper selected 221 data news reports about COVID-19 epidemic published by three media, namely "Caixin Digital News","Xinhua Data News" and "The Paper Art Class",and adopted the method of content analysis and case analysis method. This paper attempts to explore the performance of COVID-19 data journalism in four dimensions: narrative voice, narrative grammar, narrative discourse and narrative acceptance. It is found that although these data news reports are produced by professional news teams, the identity of text writers tends to be de-professionalized.In the data-centered narrative construction, humanistic concern from the narrative perspective is replaced by objective rationality.Huge data, clear logical view and interactive design greatly extend the narrative time of data journalism, making it possible to narrate across time and space. With the development of technology and data disclosure, visual narrative discourse makes reporting more multidimensional.Behind the secondary construction of data, the characteristics of "individuation" and "deep immersion" are highlighted.
