| Objective: To study the clinical effect of the addition or subtraction of Siwu Wuzi Decoction combined with acupuncture in the treatment of retinitis pigmentosa with liver and kidney deficiency.To compare the therapeutic effect of Siwu Wuzi Decoction plus and minus therapy with Siwu Wuzi Decoction plus and minus therapy combined with acupuncture on RP patients with liver and kidney deficiency,and to make a rough discussion on the mechanism of action of the combination of medicine and acupuncture on RP patients with liver and kidney deficiency.In order to provide an effective,safe,thrifty and simple treatment for RP patients,and also provide a reliable basis for the clinical application of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of RP.Methods: According to the relevant standards,48 RP patients with liver and kidney insufficiency were selected from the ophthalmic clinic of Jiangxi University of traditional Chinese Medicine Affiliated Hospital and Nanchang University Affiliated ophthalmic clinic from October 2018 to October 2019.According to the principle of random control,the 48 RP patients were divided into control group and observation group,with 24cases(48 eyes)in each group.The control group was treated only with the addition and subtraction of Siwu Wuzi Decoction.The patients took the addition and subtraction of Siwu Wuzi Decoction one dose a day and a dose of the addition and subtraction of Siwu Wuzi Decoction was dividedinto two same parts.The patients took one part in the morning and took the other part in the evening.The treatment lasted three months and it was divided into three courses.In short,every treatment course lasted one month.On the basis of the control group treatment,the observation group treatment added into acupuncture treatment.First of all,the method of taking the addition and subtraction of Siwu Wuzi Decoction in the observation group was the same as the control group.What’s more,the method of acupuncture treatment was that patients in the observation group were treated once a day and six times a week.The acupuncture treatment was divided into three treatment courses,every treatment course lasted one month.In total,the patients have experienced the acupuncture treatment for three months.Before the treatment,we had observed patients’ visual acuity,visual field and electroretinogram in two groups.Then,after the treatment,we observed the visual acuity,visual field and electroretinogram of patients in two groups again.Finally,we collected and organized the relevant data for statistical analysis.Results:(1)We made a within-group comparison.In each group,to separately compare corrected visual acuity data from patients before they were treated with data from patients after they were treated for one month(P < 0.05).Then,to separately compare corrected visual acuity data from patients after they were treated for one month with data from patients after they were treated for two months in control group and observation group(P < 0.05).Next,to separately compare corrected visual acuity data from patients in control group and observation group after they were treated for two months with data from patients after they were treated for three months(P < 0.05).Statistically,there was a meaningful difference.It shows that the treatment of each group can improve vision.(2)We made a between-group comparison.First,to compare corrected visual acuity data from patients between the two groups after they were treatedfor one month(P > 0.05).There was no statistic difference and we couldn’t choose the better one at that time.Then,to compare corrected visual acuity data from patients between the two groups after they were treated for two months(P > 0.05).Judging from the data,we couldn’t decide which one is more effective.Next,to compare corrected visual acuity data from patients between the two groups after they were treated for three months(P < 0.05).Statistically,there was a meaningful difference.It shows that the effect in the observation group is better than in the control group.(3)Post-therapy,the visual field and ERG of the two groups were compared within and between groups(P < 0.05).Statistically,there was a meaningful difference.The outcome proved that both groups had better effect on improving visual field and ERG,and the observation group was better than the control group.(4)Finally,the total efficiency of the two groups was compared and we can conclude that P value was less than 0.05,with significant difference,and in the aspect of the total effective rate,it was 83.33% of the observation group and66.67% of the matched control group.Indicating that both groups were effective,but the effect of the observation group was significantly better than the control group.Conclusion:(1)The addition or subtraction of Siwu Wuzi Decoction combined with acupuncture can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of retinitis pigmentosa patients with liver and kidney deficiency,such as improving visual acuity,expanding the field of vision and improving the amplitude of electroretinogram.Besides,compared with the addition or subtraction of Siwu Wuzi Decoction alone,combined acupuncture on this basis has a better effect.(2)During the whole treatment process,there was no adverse reaction,and the safety was reliable.It is worth using for reference in clinical application. |
