Observation On The Curative Effect Of Acupuncture Combined With Mingmu Dihuang Decoction In The Treatment Of Retinitis Pigmentosa

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture combined with Mingmu Dihuang decoction in the treatment of retinitis pigmentosa(liver and kidney yin deficiency syndrome)and to seek an effective treatment scheme for this rare diseaseMethods:48 patients with retinitis pigmentosa(liver and kidney yin deficiency syndrome)were randomly divided into acupuncture combined with Mingmu Dihuang decoction group(n=24)and Mingmu Dihuang decoction group(n=24).Acupuncture once a day,5 times a week,and traditional Chinese medicine twice a day.Both groups were treated for 3 courses,and 2 weeks was a course of treatment.The changes of visual acuity,visual field,clinical symptoms and signs scores of patients in the two groups before,after and 1 month after treatment were recorded,and the clinical effects of the two groups were compared.Results:1.Visual acuity:comparison within the group:after treatment and 1 month after treatment,compared with before treatment,the visual acuity of the two groups were improved,and the difference was statistically significant(p<0.01).One month after treatment,the visual acuity of the two groups decreased,and there was a very significant difference in the treatment group(P<0.01),but there was no significant difference in the control group(P>0.05).Comparison between groups:there was significant difference between the two groups after treatment(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups one month after treatment(P>0.05).The effective rate of visual acuity was 84.8%in the treatment group and 50.0%in the control group.There was a very significant difference between the two groups(P<0.01).2.Visual field:comparison within the group:after treatment and 1 month after treatment,compared with that before treatment,the visual field of the two groups increased,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).One month after treatment,the visual field of the two groups decreased,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).Comparison between groups:there was significant difference between the two groups after treatment(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups one month after treatment(P>0.05).The effective rate of visual field was 71.7%(treatment group)and 47.8%(control group).There was a very significant difference between the two groups(P<0.01)3.Scores of clinical symptoms and signs:comparison within the group after treatment and 1month after treatment,compared with those before treatment,the scores of the two groups decreased,and there was significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).The results showed that the two treatment methods were effective in relieving the symptoms of intraocular dryness,sore waist and knees,dizziness and tinnitus,insomnia,dreaminess and dry mouth.One month after treatment,the scores of the two groups increased,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01),indicating that the short-term efficacy of the two methods was better.Comparison between the two groups:after treatment and 1 month after treatment,the scores of the two groups increased,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01),indicating that the short-term and long-term efficacy of the treatment group in relieving clinical symptoms was better than that of the control group4.Clinical efficacy:the treatment group was significantly effective in 8 cases,effective in 14 cases,the effective rate was 95.7%;the control group was significantly effective in 5 cases,effective in 12 cases,the effective rate was 73.9%.There was significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05)Conclusion:1.Acupuncture combined with Mingmu Dihuang decoction can effectively improve the visual acuity and visual field of patients with retinitis pigmentosa(liver and kidney yin deficiency syndrome)in the short term.It can effectively relieve the clinical symptoms such as dryness in the eyes,sore waist and knees,dizziness and tinnitus,insomnia and dry mouth,and the short-term and long-term effects of acupuncture combined with Mingmu Dihuang decoction are better than those of Mingmu Dihuang decoction alone2.Acupuncture combined with Mingmu Dihuang decoction in the treatment of retinitis pigmentosa(liver and kidney yin deficiency syndrome)is an effective,safe and practical treatment scheme,which can be widely used in clinic.
