| ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy of TCM Tongdu Buyang Decoction combined with Lactulose in the treatment of Functional Constipation(FC)with Yang deficiency,to explore the etiology,pathogenesis and pathogenic characteristics of FC,and to find an effective treatment for FC.Methods100 cases met the diagnostic criteria and finally completed the the study,each 50 cases randomly divided into treatment group and control group,the treatment group was treated by Tongdu Buyang Decoction combined with lactulose,while the treatment group was treated by lactulose only,two groups of patients were in 14 days for a period of treatment,the spontaneous defecation times,Wenxer scores,TCM syndrome scores,PAC-QOL life volume in 2 groups before and after treatment were recorded,and the overall treatment effect,the recurrence of constipation after 1 month were observed.ResultsComparison of general information:there was no statistical significance in age,course of disease and sex ratio between the two groups(P>0.05),which showed comparability.Before treatment,there were no statistical differences in CSBM frequency,SBM frequency,Wenxer score,single and total score of TCM syndrome of constipation,and PAC-QOL score between the two groups(P>0.05),which were all comparable.The number of CSBM and SBM in the treatment group and the control group increased after treatment compared with before treatment(P<0.001),indicating that both the treatment group and the control group had improved completely spontaneous and incomplete spontaneous defecation,but the improvement effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group(P<0.001).In terms of Wenxer score,after treatment,the Wenxer score in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group before treatment(P<0.001),indicating that both treatment methods can improve the severity of constipation.However,the comparison between groups found that the reduction in the treatment group was more significant(P<0.001),indicating that the treatment group was better than the control group.In terms of single and total scores of constipation TCM syndromes,the treatment group and control group were significantly decreased after treatment compared with before treatment(P<0.05).After treatment,there was no significant difference between the two groups in the improvement of fecal traits and defecation time(P<0.05),while the other single and total scores in the treatment group decreased more significantly(P<0.05),especially in the difficulties in defecation,abdominal cold pain,waist acid and easy fatigue,poor urination and other aspects.The results showed that the improvement degree of constipation concomitant symptoms in the treatment group was better than that in the control group(P<0.05).In terms of quality of life,the PAC-QOL scores of both groups were lower after treatment than before treatment(P<0.001),indicating that both methods can improve the quality of life of patients;Post-treatment intergroup comparisons showed that the treatment group improved PAC-QOL scores more than the control group(P<0.001),indicating that the treatment group performed better in improving patients’ quality of life.In terms of clinical efficacy,4 cases(8.00%),33 cases(68.00%),7 cases(14.00%),and 5 cases(10.00%)were cured in the treatment group,while 1 case(2.00%),13 cases(26.00%),and 24 cases(48.00%)were effective in the control group.The total effective rate of the treatment group was 90.00%,and the total effective rate of the control group was 76.00%.The results showed that the total effective rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Follow-up results showed that 4 of the 45 patients in the treatment group had recurrence,and the recurrence rate was 8.89%.In the control group,11 of the 38 patients with original efficacy relapsed,with a recurrence rate of 2 8.95%.Comparison of the follow-up results between the two groups of patients found that the treatment group was better than the control group(P<0.05).ConclusionTraditional Chinese medicine Tongdu Buyang Decoction combined with Lactulose has definite efficacy in the treatment of FC,which can effectively relieve the associated clinical symptoms of FC patients,improve the patients,quality of life,and has the advantages of low recurrence rate and good long-term efficacy. |
