Objective:The purpose of this study is to observe the clinical effect of the balanced chiropractic treatment on Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction and to analyze the mechanism of this method in the treatment of Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction, aim to evaluate the clinical value of the balanced chiropractic treatment among the treatments of Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction. Methods:The patients were collected from Guo Yi Tang of Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Xianlin Community Health Service Center and Jiangsu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine during October 2019 to December 2020.A total 60 cases were enrolled in this study, which were randomly divided into the conventional acupuncture and massage group and the balanced chiropractic treatment group. There were 30 cases in each group and each patient was treated once every other day.The total course of treatment required ten treatments.Studies were assessed for clinical efficacy by the scale and radiographic evidence.VAS score and ODI score were recorded before treatment, after 3 treatments and after a course of treatment for statistical analysis. In addition, imaging results(Iliac crest height discrepancy,Hip width discrepancy)were recorded before treatment and after a course of treatment for statistical analysis.Results:(1)After a course of treatment, both groups show significantly improvement in VAS score,ODI score and the imaging results(Iliac crest height discrepancy,Hip width discrepancy).Besides, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).It shows that both treatments could be used for relieving pain, improving mobility function and altering both iliac crest height discrepancy and hip width discrepancy on the patients of Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction.(2)VAS Score:After 3 treatments, the result between two groups shows statistically significant difference(P<0.05).However,there was no statistically significant difference between two groups(P=0.101>0.05)after a course of treatment. It shows that the balanced chiropractic treatment could better reduce pain intensity in the short term, but there is no significant difference as the treatment time increases.(3)ODI Score:After 3 treatments and a course of treatment, the result between two groups shows statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Besides,the decrease range of ODI score which is shown in the trend chart(Chart 2)is much larger, comparing the balanced chiropractic treatment to the conventional acupuncture and massage treatment. It has shown that the balanced chiropractic treatment has better immediate effect in improving patient’s mobility function,so it could help the patients recover their daily life functions as soon as possible.(4)Imaging Results:After a course of treatment, the result between two groups shows statistically significant difference(P<0.05),it indicates that the balanced chiropractic treatment has better results in altering both iliac crest height discrepancy and hip width discrepancy on the patients of Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction.(5)Clinical Efficacy:After a course of treatment, the total efficacy rate of two groups has shown no statistically significant difference(P=0.1>0.05),which the balanced chiropractic group and the conventional acupuncture and massage group were 93.33%and 86.67%respectively.Conclusion:1.The balanced chiropractic treatment and the conventional acupuncture and massage treatment both have therapeutic effect for Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction.2.The balanced chiropractic treatment has shown more advantages in clinical immediate effect, higher reproducibility of treatment procedures. These results have shown that the balanced chiropractic treatment is an optimal clinical treatment plan for treating Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction.
