Objective:By observing the two therapies of acupoint embedding and acupuncture, the scores of main symptoms of fatigue, fatigue symptoms, fatigue severity scores, physical and mental health report scores of patients with chronic fatigue syndrome of liver depression and spleen deficiency type before and after treatment and during follow-up(4 weeks after the end of treatment),comparative analysis of the efficacy and pros and cons of the two methods for the treatment of this disease,to provide a clinical basis for choosing a more appropriate treatment for this disease. Methods:In this study,From January 2019 to October 2020,we recruited 60 patients who met the diagnostic criteria from the TCM acupuncture and moxibustion department(outpatient or inpatient department)in Hubei Province and from other approaches.Using SPSS24.0,the subjects were stochastically divided into the acupuncture group and the acupoint embedding group.Pishu,Ganshu,Shenshu,Guanyuan,Baihui,Zusanli,Sanyinjiao,Zhongwan,Zhangmen were choosed. In addition to health education, the acupuncture group was treated with acupuncture,30 minutes at a time, treated 3 times a week for 8 weeks.the other group was treated with acupoint embedding, once every two weeks, including 4 times. Before treatment, after 8 weeks of treatment, and during followup, the patients were evaluated for the score of FS-14,fatigue symptoms,FSS,SPHERE,and the evaluation of the two groups ofpatients Compliance and safety, through statistical analysis of the above data,to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of acupoint embedding and acupuncture in the treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome.Result:1.General data and baseline comparison: In the course of this study,2 patients were lost in the acupuncture group,1 patient was lost in the acupoint embedding group.28 and 29 cases in the two groups completed the research. There was no obvious difference between the two groups of patients in gender, age, and course of disease(P>0.05).Before the start of treatment,FS-14,FSS,SPHERE scores and the score of fatigue symptoms between the two groups were similar(P>0.05).2.Main outcome indicators Comparison of the scores of main symptoms of fatigue and concurrent symptoms: At the end of treatment, the scores of FS-14 and fatigue symptoms of all patients dropped sharply(P<0.01).Betwe en the two groups,There was no evidently disparity in fatigue score and fatigue symptom score(P>0.05);the difference between the fatigue score and fatigue symptom score before and after treatment was not significantly different between the two groups(P>0.05).Clinical efficacy comparison: After treatment, the total effective rate of the ordinary acupuncture group was 78.57%,and the total effective rate of the acupoint embedding group was 82.76%.The overall efficacy of the two groups is almost equal(P>0.05).3.Secondary outcome indicators Fatigue severity score comparison: After curing,There was a greatly drop in FSS scores of all Subjects(P<0.01);The scores of the two groups are close(P>0.05).The score of acupoint embed ding group decreased more than that of the other group(P<0.05).Comparison of quality of life: After curing,SPHERE scores of all patients dropped dramatically(P<0.01);In acupoint embedding group, the grade were evidently lower(P<0.05);The decline is even more pronounced(P<0.05).Long-term efficacy comparison: Patients were reassessed at follow-up.The FS-14 score and concurrent symptom score were similar between the two groups(P>0.05);the scores of FSS and SPHERE of acupoint embedding group were less than those of the other group(P<0.05).4.Compliance comparison: In the course of this study,in the acupuncture group, the compliance rate was less than 75% in 5 ca ses,3 cases were between 75% and 85%(including 75%),and 22 cases were between 85% and 100%(including 85% and 100%).the compliance rate of acupoint embedding group was less than 75% in 1 case,2 cases were between 75% and 85%(including 75%),and 27 cases were between 85% and 100%.(Including 85% and 100%).The compliance of the acupoint embedding group was significantly better than that of the acupuncture group(P<0.01).5.Safety evaluation: There were no serious adverse events suchas fainting, stuck needles, broken needles, allergies, infections, etc.between the two groups of patients. One patient in the acupuncture group suffered from mild discomfort when the needle was retained. The reason was traced back to the patient’s failure to eat breakfast, and the sugar water was given to improve afterwards, which did not affect subsequent treatment. One patient in the acupoint catgut embedding group fell off because part of the acupoint protein thread was not absorbed for more than one week after the first catgut embedding at acupoint. There was no statistical difference in safety between the two groups(P>0.05).ConclusionFor CFS patients with liver depression and spleen deficiency,Both therapy can improve clinical discomfort, reduce the fatigue, and alleviate the pain caused by the disease;the overall curative effect of two cures are equivalent, and both It has good safety;acupoint embedding is better than ordinary acupuncture in improving the degree of fatigue and comfort of life of patients, and shows better long-term efficacy. The compliance of patients with acupoint embedding therapy is better than another. Therefore,in terms of long-term efficacy and compliance, acupoint embedding is more worthy of further clinical application.
