The report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out: At present,China is in the decisive stage of building a well-off society in all respects. However, the current development imbalance between urban and rural areas is still prominent, the development efficiency of rural areas is low, rural residents lack the staying power to improve individual income, and the key to promote the increase of farmers’ income is to improve the level of human capital. In recent decades, scholars’ research on healthy human capital has lagged behind that of education. What needs to be paid attention to is that health is closely related to People’s Daily production and life.Good health level is not only the foundation of economic development, but also one of the primary goals of human development. At the same time, the health of rural population is more fragile than that of urban population. Therefore, this paper focuses on the income effects of health human capital of rural residents based on micro data.First of all, this paper has consulted a large number of relevant domestic and foreign literatures, based on the theory of human capital and the theory of health human capital, and made a theoretical analysis on how health affects income from the two aspects of demand and supply. Then,we use relevant yearbook data to understand the health and health investment status of rural residents from a macro perspective.Secondly, based on the China health and nutrition survey(CHNS)in 2000-2011 panel data,by applying Mincer’s income equation, using the mixed OLS,fixed effects model,Hausman-Taylor model measuring method,on the premise of as far as possible to reduce endogenous problems, estimates of China’s rural residents of nutrition and health impact on their income.Studies have shown that the effects of body mass index and height on rural residents’ income are significant, but there are gender differences.Compared with women, men are more likely to benefit from taller bodies.Caloric intake has no significant effect on rural residents’ income.Further research results in this article show that among the three main components of calorie intake, carbohydrates have a negative impact on rural residents’ income. The effect of protein intake on men was significantly positive. The influence coefficient of fat intake on income is not significant, but the impact direction is positive. In general, the nutritional structure needs to be optimized. In addition, for different regions, the nutritional level of residents in the eastern region is better than that in the central and western regions, but it is necessary to prevent various chronic diseases caused by excess nutrition. In conclusion, this paper verifies the impact of health human capital on income in rural areas, and provides a new way for rural residents to improve labor productivity and reduce the long-term urban-rural income and health gap. From the above research conclusions, this article presents relevant policy implications.
