Purpose : Investigate the psychological state of anxiety and depression in patients with essential hypertension, and analyze the correlation between anxiety and depression and medication compliance. Methods : A total of 500 patients who were diagnosed with essential hypertension from April 1,2017 to October 1,2019 in the Department of Cardiology and Inpatient Department of the First Hospital of Quanzhou City were selected as the research subjects. For all subjects, the Hospital Anxeity and Depression Scale(HADS)was used to evaluate the anxiety and depression.By comparing blood pressure indicators,HAMA scale score,HAMD scale score,WHOQO-BREF scale score after treatment. To investigate whether anxiety and depression in patients with essential hypertension has an impact on compliance. Results: 354(70.8%)of the patients included in this study were male,311(62.2%)were elderly,441(88.2%)were educated in College degree or above, and 406(81.2%)were married,243 patients(48.6%)had a smoking habit.183 patients(36.6%)were drinking alcohol in daily life, and most patients lived in rural areas 372(74.4%).There were differences in anxiety and depression among patients with different hypertension control conditions, and the differences were statistically significant(all data showed P<0.05).The positive rate of HADS(A)and HADS(D)in women is significantly higher than that in men.The positive rate in elderly people is significantly higher than that in non-elderly people. The positive rate in unmarried patients is significantly higher than that in married people. The positive ratio of college degree and above is significantly higher than that of junior college. The positive rate of living in rural areas is higher than that in urban areas, and the proportion of anxiety and depression in patients with poor compliance is higher than that in patients with good compliance. This shows that the positive results of HADS(A)and HADS(D)have certain correlation with gender, age, education, marital status, residence and compliance. The differences in the degree of reduction in blood pressure indicators between the normal group and the anxiety and depression group were statistically significant(all data showed P <0.05).The blood pressure index of the normal group was lower than that of the anxiety and depression group. At the same time, the significance of the indicators MBPS and CV(SYS)tests is relatively strong, which indicates that the normal group has a better degree of decline in the two indicators of control MBPS and CV(SYS)than the anxiety and depression group. The difference in WHOQO-BREF score between the normal group before and after treatment was statistically significant(all data showed P <0.05).This shows that the physiological, psychological, social relationship, and environmental areas of the normal group after treatment have been significantly improved compared with those before treatment, and especially the physiological and psychological areas. There was no statistically significant difference in scores between the depression and anxiety groups before and after treatment(all data showed P> 0.05).Factors such as gender, education level, place of residence, anxiety, and depression may be related factors affecting the prognosis of patients(all data showed P <0.05).Factors such as age, marital status, smoking, and drinking did not significantly affect patient compliance in the included data(all data showed P> 0.05).Conclusion : Most patients with essential hypertension have different levels of anxiety and depression psychological state.Their anxiety and depression state may affect patients’ medication compliance, and then affect blood pressure control.
