| Objective1.To understand the dementia knowledge,the attitude towards dementia patients and the sense of competence in dementia care among clinical nurses,and analyze the relationship between the sense of competence in dementia care and dementia knowledge and attitude,and identify the influencing factors of sense of competence of clinical nurse in dementia care,aiming at providing basis for developing online dementia education APP and improving dementia nursing competency of clinical nurses.2.To develop online dementia education APP,and explore the effects of APP on nurses’ dementia knowledge,dementia attitude and sense of competency in dementia care,in order to promote clinical nurses’ dementia nursing competency,and lay theoretical basis for carrying out dementia nursing education and training for clinical nurses.MethodsCross-sectional study was applied.200 nurses from three public grade A hospitals were surveyed with the general questionnaire,Dementia Knowledge Assessment Tool2(DKAT2),Dementia Attitude Scale(DAS)and Sense of Competence in Dementia Care Staff(SCIDS)in Jinan city,Shandong province from May to August,2019,and 196 valid questionnaires were collected with an effective recovery rate of 97.5%.May to October,2019,A dementia nursing education APP had been developed.October to November,55 nurses were randomly selected from the samples in cross-sectional study and acceptedonline dementia nursing education APP intervention with self-reference study.After APP intervention,survey was conducted with DKAT2,DAS,SCIDS,nurses satisfaction questionnaire about the effect of learning APP.Database was established,and SPSS23.0 software was used for statistical analysis.Results1.The score of DKAT2,DAS and SCIDS was respectively(15.82±3.86,95.26±15.34,45.12±7.47)among clinical nurses.2.The univariate analysis results showed that there was significant difference in the sense of competence of clinical nurses in dementia care with different educational background(P=0.005),professional title(P=0.001),years of nursing service(P=0.000),experience of dementia care(P=0.000),dementia-related training experience(P=0.000)and dementia care training intention(P=0.011)(P<0.05).3.The sense of competence of clinical nurses in dementia care was positively correlated with dementia knowledge and care attitude(r=0.621,0.807,P< 0.01).4.The results of multivariate analysis showed that professional title,years of nursing service,dementia care experience,dementia knowledge and care attitude had significantly positive influence on the sense of competence of clinical nurses in dementia care(P<0.01).5.After intervention of online demnetia education APP,nurses’ s score of DKAT2(16.78±3.82),DAS(102.33±16.27)and SCIDS(52.78±6.17)was respectively higher than themselves before with statistically significant differences(p < 0.01).In addition,social comfort dimension(45.38±11.37),dementia knowledge dimension(56.95±9.40)of DAS and establishing relational dimension(11.05±1.84),maintaining personality dimension(13.45±2.37),professional dimension(16.25±2.37),nursing challenge dimension(12.20±2.05)of SCIDS were all higher than themselves before with statistically significant differences(P <0.01).Clinical nurses were satisfied with the intervention effect of learning APP for dementia caregiver.96.7% of nurses chosed "agree" or "fully agree" in the questionnaire.Conclusions1.The dementia knowledge of clinical nurses was at moderate level,and the attitude of dementia care was at highly intermediate level,and SCIDS of clinical nurses was also at a medium level.2.The SCIDS of clinical nurses was positively correlated with dementia knowledge and dementia care attitude.3.Professional title,years of nursing service,dementia care experience,dementia knowledge and care attitude were the influencing factors of SCIDS among clinical nurses.4.Online dementia education APP could effectively improve the dementia knowledge,dementia attitudes towards dementia care,and SCIDS of clinical nurses.Clinical nurses were satisfied with APP.Online APP education is an efficient and convenient education method without limition of time and space and can be recommended for nurses in hospitals. |
