Study On The Clinical Efficacy Of Chaigan Jieyou Decoction Combined With Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation On Parkinson’s Disease With Depression

ObjectiveGuided by traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)theory and combined with the frontier research of modern medicine,we observed the clinical efficacy of Chaigan Jieyou Decoction combined with repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation(rTMS)on Parkinson’s disease with depress ion(PDD)in order to provide reference for clinical treatment.MethodsA prospective randomized study was included in the PD specialty clinic of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine from July 1,2018 to January 20,2019.84 subjects were included in which 4 subjects dropped off during the study.They were randomly assigned into Chinese medicine group,rTMS group,combined group and control group,each included 20 cases.The former three groups were given Chaigan Jieyou Decoction,rTMS,Chaigan Jieyou Decoction combined with rTMS respectively.The control group maintained basic treatment.All patients of the four groups were observed for 8 weeks.The data of Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD),Beck Depression Inventory(BDI),Movement Disorder Society-Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale(MDS-UPDRS),Parkinson’s Disease Questionnaire-39(PDQ-39)and the TCM symptome score were collected and analyzed before and after the treatment.Results1.The analysis of depression scales(HAMD and BDI):After treatment,compared with the control group,Chinese medicine group,rTMS group and combined group were all statistically significant(P<0.05),the improvement of PDD in combined group was more obvious than that in Chinese medicine group and rTMS group(P<0.05).2.The analysis of PDQ-39:After treatment,Chinese medicine group,rTMS group and combined group were all statistically significant compared with the control group(P<0.05),the improvement of quality of life in combined group was better than that in Chinese medicine group and rTMS group(P<0.05).3.The analysis of MDS-UPDRS:After treatment,in the Movement Disorder Society-Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale(MDS-UPDRS)part I、II and III,compared with the control group,Chinese medicine group,rTMS group and combined group were all statistically significant(P<0.05),the comparison among three groups,Chinese medicine group,rTMS group and combined group,had no statistical significance(P>0.05).4.The analysis of TCM symptoms:After treatment,compared with the control group,Chinese medicine group,rTMS group and combined group were all statistically significant(P>0.05),the improvement of TCM syndromes in combined group was the most obvious in the three intervention groups(Chinese medicine group,rTMS group,and combined group)(P<0.05).ConclusionChaigan Jieyou Decoction,rTMS,as well as Chaigan Jieyou Decoction combined with rTMS can ease PDD patients’depressive emotion and relieve their symptoms of PD,improve the living quality of the patients.Compared with Chaigan Jieyou Decoction and rTMS simple treatment,Chaigan Jieyou Decoction combined with rTMS treatment has obvious advantages and it is encouraged to be popularized in clinical application.
