| The midwife has become the backbone force of work of maternal and child hygiene.In recent years,due to the high intensity of work pressure,job burnout is becoming increasingly prominent.In view of few domestic and foreign researches on the job burnout of midwives,and none in Fujian Province,this study investigated the present situation of Fujian Province midwife occupational burnout,to discuss the main factors affecting job burnout,and to analyze the relationship between different demographic variables,level of self efficacy sense and the midwife job burnout,which aimed to provide a reference basis for sanitatary administration department to constitute relative policies,and management support for alleviating the midwife occupational burnout,and maintaining midwife health.Through the questionnaire survey,in-depth interview method,we collected and processed the data by using descriptive analysis,correlation analysis,variance analysis,regression analysis and other statistical methods.The following are the conclusions:①The rate of occupational burnout was 52.5%in the delivery room of Fujian Province.And the incidence of mild,moderate and severe burnout accounted for 26.4%,19%and 7.1%,and the overall level of job burnout was mild to moderate level.②There was a significant correlation between the job burnout and self-efficacy,with significantly negative correlation between self efficacy and emotional exhaustion as well as dehumanization,and a significant positive correlation with personal accomplishment.The average self efficacy of midwives was in the middle level,and the length of nursing age,the length of service in delivery room had a significant positive predictive effect on self-efficacy.③As to job burnout,there existed a significant difference in different demographic variables and job characteristics.Occupation burnout influenced physical and mental health of midwives;age,nursing age,the length of service in delivery room had a negative predictive effect on emotional exhaustion and depersonalization,and a positive prediction effect on individual achievement.Therefore,we are suggested to call on the government to issue the relevant policies and regulations,to optimize the allocation of human resources in the delivery room,to take midwives career planning seriously,to improve job competency of young midwife and to enhance the value of the midwife labor,in order to improve sense of self-efficacy of midwife;to provide social and family support,carry out mental health education,strengthen self health care consciousness,and reasonably release work pressure of midwives,so as to reduce midwife’s burnout,enhance the morale of the midwife groups;keep stability of midwife team,to improve the market competitiveness of midwife institutions and perfect perinatal health care quality and efficiency. |
