The Seasonal Dynamic Investigation And The Observation Of The Effect Of Parasite Expelling From Digestive Tract Of Przewalski Horse In Xinjiang

Przewalski horse is the only existing wild horse species in the world.There are only 2,000 Przewalski horses in the world of which 24%in China there for it has become the first class protected animal in China.For a long time gastrointestinal parasitic disease is like a tumor in the breeding process of Przewalski horse,which seriously affects the normal development of horses(such as anemia,leanness,foal under development),causing mechanical damage to the host,as well as pathological changes(such as intestinal obstruction,intestinal rupture,aneurysm),and can cause death in serious cases.Xinjiang is an important area for the development of Przewalski horse,so it is necessary to strengthen the parasite-expelling strategy.However,due to the unique development characteristics of digestive tract parasites,one-time insecticide-repellent can not achieve the standard effect of parasite-expelling.Therefore,this experiment carried out a full-year investigation on the digestive tract parasite disease of Przewalski horse in Xinjiang and a seasonal dynamic investigation of the vermifuge.which provides a reference and has practical application significance.(1)During the 12 months from October 2017 to September 2018,780 freshly collected feces from more than 65 Przewalski horse were tested by egg floating method and counting egg per gram(EPG).The results showed that all the Przewalski horse infested with digestive tract parasites throughout the year,and the infection rate was high up to 76%,in which Parascaris equorum,Trichostrongylus spp,Strongylus equines and Nematodirus spp were detected.Trichostrongylus spp(81.3%)and Parascaris equorum(86.6%)were the dominant species.It was found that summer and autumn were the peak periods of parasitic infestation in Przewalski horses,It is found that summer and autumn are the best period for the parasites of Platts wild horses to infect parasites and to deworm,while paying attention to the feeding environment and infection factors of different ages.(2)Seasonal dynamic investigation and observation of insect repellent effect on digestive tract parasite infestation of Przewalski horse were carried out by using vermifuge(The commercial name is Yi Wei Jun Su).Four kinds of parasites were found Parascaris equorum,Trichostrongylus spp,Strongylus equines and Nematodirus spp.All horses under 2 years old(100%)and over 2 years old(85%)were infected with Parascaris equorum and Trichostrongylus spp.After insecticidal treatment,the number of negative-turning counts reached to 50,the negative-turning rate of eggs reached 77%,the EPG was 5-20/g,and the reduction rate of eggs reached 95%.The effect of insecticidal treatment is obviously higher than that of the previous year,which lays a foundation for the prevention and treatment of parasitic diseases in Przewalski horse.
