Abstract/Summary:
The main objective of this research is to improve the Information Technology (IT) organizational effectiveness and productivity in the healthcare sector. As well as introduce high level platforms of communication in order to communicate more effectively to other healthcare givers, and by maintaining high availability and performance of health services and businesses.; The thesis suggests a service management solution in the area of IT between hospitals, mapping IT services to business needs, for example hospital data base (Electronic Health Record), measuring actual end-user needs, and managing their applications, systems, and networks.; Today's enterprises respond to changing business conditions by designing, developing and operating networked applications. End-to-end performance depends on application, server, and network relationships that are not always obvious. Without a clear understanding of these relationships, IT managers are not able to use their time efficiently when troubleshooting or planning application deployments. They are not able to invest in the right places to fix problems in a cost effective manner.; This research focuses on designing hospitals' network model to interconnects three of the hospitals from Waterloo Region and Wellington-Dufferin District Health Council (DHC) together. The evaluation of the design is done by analyzing the results of network topologies simulations. Which take into consideration the E-health applications running at the server as well as the end user performance.
