Quality Management Research In The Archive Digitization Project Of A Research Institute

The purpose of this study is to investigate how to conduct the quality managementof digital archives work.In modern society,the archives information resource is animportant resource,and has great value,is an important part of the whole social information.Because the existing archives rely on the traditional paper carrier,in orderto give full play to archival resources in management,the digitalization of traditional carrier archives is the only route which must be passed.In the digitalization process,the need of the archive characteristic sets an even higher demand on the quality of the digital results.According to the study of domestic and foreign digital archives work,found that the main problems existing in the current archives digitization is:foreign put into electronic document management of the archives digitization work,put forward from the aspects of frame structure,metadata,a large number of theory and standard to guide the digital work,effectively guarantee the quality of the archives digitization work.And domestic relative at the exploration stage,the lack of a strong national standards,and the absence of a strong promotion of implementing agencies,of great local archives in the digital process.Moreover,for the whole digital project,the quality management research is relatively small,which is the application of certain quality management means,and the improvement of some aspects of digitization,still lacks the research on the total quality management of the digital project.A certain institute also comes up against a series of problems during process of digital archives,including inadequate management methods and means,lack of human resources,high workload and quality management tasks,etc.This paper discusses the research and practice current situations on the quality in the digital archives projects,introduces the concept of quality management,establishs a quality management system covering all the processes of digital work,has certain practical significance.This paper practically discusses the problems on digital archives work practice of a certain institute at first,puts forward the quality objectives:it' s convenient for searching for,has accurate contents,it' s data is easy to transfer,the originals can be properly protected,and it' s in accordance with the confidentiality provisions.The quality work plans is worked out according to the quality goal,and the quality management plan is designed and the quality control measures of each stage are put forward according to the procedure of digital archives work.The first stage is the preparation stage before processing,five aspects of contents such as setting digital plan setting,carrying out the appraisal of archives,implementing processing work before digitalization,building digital environment,digital certified security measures are discussed;the second stage are quality control measures during processing,which are mainly the processing easures of scanned imagery,the protection measures of archives originals,etc;The third stage is the quality control of late period,which are mainly three aspects of contents including data acceptance,data backup,data connection.It is found that the key to well carrying out digital archives quality management is in the earlier preparatory work,including project designing,formulation of standard system,archives pre identification and rocessing,etc,which directly determine the quality level of archives digitization results.
