Purpose:This study was to explore the clinical curative efficacy of oral neck and back pain decoction(Ⅰ) in improving postoperative low back pain in patients with lumbar disc herniation after transforaminal endoscopic spine procedure by random grouping.Material and method: From December 2016 to March 2019,60 hospitalized patients with lumbar disc herniation who underwent transforaminal endoscopic spine procedure in the Department of Orthopaedics,Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected as research subjects. The patients still had symptoms of low back pain one week after the operation, and at the same time their TCM syndromes all belonged to syndromes of blood stasis and qi stagnation according to the diagnostic analysis of TCM.These patients were divided into treatment group and control group by randomization. Both groups received the same treatment after surgery(conventional symptomatic treatment and rehabilitation of lumbar function). On this basis, the control group was given oral loxoprofen sodium tablets one week after surgery. The treatment group was treated orally with the neck and back pain decoction(Ⅰ) for one week after surgery. The efficacy evaluation model of this study was recorded through VAS,ODI,JOA and TCM symptom score. The VAS score was used to assess the status of low back pain relief, the JOA score was used to assess the recovery of lumbar spine function and the ODI index scores assess the improvement in the quality of life of patients. The TCM symptom classification method was used to assess the improvement of TCM symptoms after treatment. The above scores were counted before treatment, half a month after treatment,1 month, and 2 months after the end of treatment. And we used SPSS23.0 statistical software for analysis.Through this method,we compared and analyzed the difference in efficacy between the two groups of patients before and after treatment. Results: 1.Comparison within the group: in terms of VAS,JOA and ODI score, the differences between the two groups before and after treatment were statistically significant(P<0.05).2.Comparison of VAS scores between groups: the two groups were compared at the same follow-up time after treatment,P>0.05,and the difference was not statistically significant.3.Comparison of JOA scores between groups:at the half-month and one-month treatment, the JOA index of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).When two months after the end of treatment, the difference between the two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).4.Comparison of JOA scores between groups: at the half-month and one-month treatment, the ODI index of the treatment group decreased significantly compared with the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).When two months after the end of the treatment, the difference between the two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).5.Comparison of total clinical efficacy of TCM symptom between groups: after the rank sum test, the two groups of patients were tested for P<0.05 in the efficacy of TCM symptoms. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant. Conclusions: Neck and back pain decoction(Ⅰ) taken orally by the patients with lumbar disc herniation after transforaminal endoscopic spine procedure, not only can improve the symptoms of postoperative low back pain, but also help to promote the rapid recovery of postoperative lumbar spine function and improve the quality of daily life. For some patients with lumbar disc herniation who still have unexplained low back pain after spinal minimally invasive surgery, this prescription can be used as an auxiliary and supplementary treatment under the guidance of TCM theory, and it is worthy of further clinical application.
