Purpose: To compare the methods of Chinese medicine and Thai medicine that are often used in order to treat paralysis disease in rehabilitation phase,including comparing the similarities and differences of treatment methods.The aims are to use Chinese medicine and Thai medicine together in the treatment of diseases,and increasing the efficiency of the treatment.Material and method: Information Query: CNKI-Chinese Research Search Website.PUBMED-The International Research Website.TCI,CUIR,MULKC-Thai research website.Searching terms is paralysis: Paralysis,Paralysis Rehabilitation,Traditional Chinese Medicine,Traditional Thai Medicine,Acupuncture,Tuina Massage,Thai Massage,Compress Massage.The year used for searching: 2009-2019.The research methodology: to select the researches from both Chinese and Thai medicine in relation to the treatment of paralysis in rehabilitation phase.Chinese medicine focuses on acupuncture and Tuina massaging methods.Thai medicine focuses on traditional Thai massage methods and compress massage.We divided by comparing syndrome,diagnosis,treatment location,and massage positions.Finally,we use all the information for a statistic.Results: 1.Number of Researches: Researches that meets the objectives: 50 researches for Traditional Chinese medicine,and 25 researches for traditional Thai medicine.2.Frequently Used Methods of Treatment: Traditional Chinese medicine: acupuncture 72% and massaging 28%.(Traditional Chinese Medicine uses acupuncture as the main treatment)Traditional Thai medicine: Thai massage 56% and compress massage 44%.(Thai traditional medicine uses both methods of treatment together)3.Diagnosis of the Disease: For Traditional Chinese medicine,diagnosis is done by symptoms,as well as meridians and collaterals 74%,internal medicine 20%.Therefore,Traditional Chinese Medicine mainly uses external treatment,such as Tuina massage.Traditional Thai medicine does not divide diagnoses like Chinese medicine.Diagnosis is mainly from the internal wind 56% and there 44% is no clear diagnosis.4.Positions Used in Treatment: Chinese medicine mainly uses the positions of the meridians and collateral.Both acupuncture and massages have a total of 37 points: 12 points on head and face,6 points on the torso,6 points on the arms,2 points on abdomen,and 10 points on legs and movement joints.Thai medicine is mainly used the positions of acupressure.Both Thai traditional massage and compress massage have a total of 45 points: 10 points on the head,5 points on shoulders,10 points on the arms,5 points on abdomen,5 points on back,and 10 points on legs.5.Massage Methods Used in The Treatment: The most frequently used positions for Tuina massage were hand picking,rolling,squeezing,joints moving,pressing,and pushing respectively.The most commonly used for Thai massage methods are squeezing,picking,pressing,rolling,pushing,and joints moving respectively.Conclusion: 1.The similarity in method of diagnosis in Chinese and Thai medicine is to use "inner wind" to diagnose the disease.Thai traditional medicine is divided into "the upper wind" and "the lower wind".Chinese traditional medition also includes all the elements to diagnose.2.Positions used in the treatment of diseases in Chinese medicine mainly are the points on the Chinese meridians and collaterals.Thai traditional medicine mainly uses pressure points on the muscles.3.For massage methods,Chinese medicine uses Chinese meridians and collaterals to consider massage points and massage methods,each area may have different methods.As for Thai traditional medicine,it is clear that it mainly uses squeezing,picking,and pressing.4.Traditional Chinese and Thai medicine both have similarities and differences in treatment.Therefore,the use of Chinese and Thai medicine together will help promote the effectiveness of the treatment. |
