Objective:Medical staff are ideal low-risk blood donors.Studying the unpaid blood donation of medical staff can not only enlarge the blood donors’ranks,but also play an important role in eliminating the health concerns of blood donors because of their authoritative status in the field of medical health.It plays an indispensable role in the propaganda of unpaid blood donation in China.At present,our country’s blood donation propaganda products are geared to all the public,and no specific measures are formulated for target groups.This article takes medical staff as the target group,and makes a comprehensive study of the influence of blood donation environment,blood donation departments,personal factors of blood donors on blood donation of medical staff,and puts forward more detailed policy recommendations for improving the blood donation rate of medical staff,as well as for improving the whole society.The free blood donation rate will provide a reference.Methods:By using the methods of literature analysis,interviews and questionnaires,and adopting the multi-stage random sampling method,the medical staff were selected as the survey population in the large-scale third-class A hospitals in Nanjing urban area,and the field survey was carried out by issuing research questionnaires.In order to study the influencing factors of unpaid blood donation by medical staff,the questionnaire mainly investigates the working conditions and job satisfaction,blood donation status and blood donation satisfaction,blood donation motivation,Big Five personality and empathy ability of medical staff.These items cover the environment,individual blood donors,blood donation institutions and so on,and can be more comprehensive research of medical care.Influencing factors of blood donation.Statistical analysis:(1)The difference of blood donation among medical and nursing staff with different characteristics was statistically significant;(2)Pearson bivariate correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between empathy,Big Five personality and blood donation behavior,blood donation willingness and motivation.(3)MLR was used to analyze the influencing factors of blood donation by medical staff in Nanjing.RESULTS:The results showed that the differences of gender,age,marital status,job satisfaction and understanding degree of unpaid blood donation policy of medical staff in Nanjing had significant influence on unpaid blood donation experience;empathy ability of medical staff was not related to blood donation behavior,and the dimension of viewpoint selection was positively related to job satisfaction,while the dimension of viewpoint selection and empathy was significantly related to blood donation intention.The extroversion and agreeable personality in the Big Five personality are significantly correlated with blood donation experience,while the open personality is significantly correlated with blood donation intention;the dimensionality of blood donation motivation of medical staff is reduced,self-interest motivation,altruistic motivation and environmental motivation,and the medical staff with high scores in three dimensions of imagination,viewpoint selection and empathy are more likely to be motivated by altruistic motivation and environmental motivation.The medical staff with high scores in personal distress dimension were more likely to donate blood out of self-interest motivation;the agreeable personality was more likely to participate in voluntary blood donation because of environmental factors,neuroticism and open personality were more likely to participate in blood donation because of self-interest motivation.CONCLUSION:In order to improve the rate of unpaid blood donation of medical staff,play a vanguard role in blood donation of medical staff,and eliminate the public’s worries and misunderstandings about blood donation,it is necessary to:(1)improve the job satisfaction of medical staff:hospitals should improve the positive salary income of medical staff,improve the assessment management mechanism,and strengthen the psychological care of employees;the government should increase policy and financial support for hospitals.To improve the social welfare treatment of medical staff and create a good environment for medical treatment;the public should give medical staff due understanding and respect.(2)Improve the satisfaction of medical staff in all aspects of blood donation:blood stations:strengthen the assessment and training of staff,strengthen the ability of blood donation service;blood donation departments should simplify the procedures of blood donors’preferential use and reimbursement of blood fees:create more convenient conditions for blood donation,remove barriers for medical staff to participate in unpaid blood donation;blood stations should make information public and increase transparency of work.Government:Provide policy and financial support to increase the rights and interests of medical staff to donate blood,and have a thorough understanding of medical staffs blood donation expectations and service needs.Hospitals:hospitals should change the internal recruitment mode of unpaid blood donation;hospitals should also provide more humane care for medical personnel participating in blood donation;carry out open source and throttling work of blood,and standardize clinical blood use.Public:The public should give more understanding and respect to medical staff;patients’dissatisfaction and doubts about ischemia of blood stations and blood transfusion costs need to be patiently listened to and explained.(3)Improving the empathy ability of medical staff:education departments should pay attention to empathy education for medical students;hospitals should pay attention to the cultivation of empathy ability of employees.(4)Grasp the personality differences of medical staff:conduct personality assessment of medical staff and adopt more targeted call strategies for different personality of medical staff.
