Research On The Relationship Between Network Embeddedness And Enterprise Innovation Openness

In the field of enterprise strategic management,how to acquire and maintain competitive advantage is the focus of every enterprise.With the development of science and technology,the increasing complexity of technology,the quickening of the mobility of resources and the shortening of the life cycle of the products make it more and more difficult for the enterprises to complete the whole innovation process by themselves.The closed innovation advantage of "closed doors" has gradually declined,which has been unable to meet the needs of the enterprise's innovation and development,and is replaced by an open innovation model.Enterprises need to seek appropriate partners and innovate together in the innovation network.The internal resources owned by the enterprise constitute one aspect of the enterprise's competitive advantage,and the social resources that the enterprise embeds in the social network are also another aspect of its competitive advantage.Such social resources and capabilities are difficult for competitors to imitate and acquired.However,scholars who have traditionally studied network theory have excessively valued the influence of social capital and external connections while ignored the company's own dynamic capabilities.In the globalized competitive landscape,knowledge absorptive capacity as a dynamic capability of the enterprise is the key to maintain the competitive advantage of the enterprise.It is the differences in the ability of companies to absorb a range of capabilities(acquisition,digestion,transformation,and application)that result in a different degree of open innovation.This paper discusses the relationship between network embeddedness,absorptive capacity and innovation openness on the basis of the existing relevant theories and the empirical research methods based on the existing relevant theories,after referring to the achievements of network embeddedness,absorptive capacity and innovation openness.The main method is to distribute questionnaires to manufacturing enterprises in Tongren in Guizhou province and Suzhou in Jiangsu province,and then analyzes the data with SPSS18.0 and AMOS21.0,and finally make an empirical test on the theoretical hypothesis of the conceptual model.The main conclusions of this study are as followings:(1)Network embeddedness has a significant positive impact on enterprise innovation openness(breadth of openness and depth of openness);(2)As for the two dimensions of knowledge absorptive capacity(potential absorptive capacity and realized absorptive capacity),potential absorptive capacity has significant positive relationship with breadth of openness and depth of openness,while realized absorptive capacity has no positive relationship to the breadth and depth of innovation openness;(3)The two dimensions of network embeddedness(relational embeddedness and structural embeddedness)have a significant positive impact on knowledge absorptive capacity;(4)The influence of network embeddedness on enterprise innovation openness is partly mediated by knowledge absorptive capacity.From the perspective of network embeddedness and absorptive capacity,this paper puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions to promote the open innovation of enterprises.Enterprises can manage their own network embeddedness and enhance their knowledge absorptive capacity,so they can promote the open innovation model of enterprises and improving the level of open innovation.
