Research Into Mobile Application For Cultural Preservation And Experience

China's rapid economic growth has brought more opportunities for city construction,but it also exposes lots of challenges against urban civilization and spirit.The missing historical and cultural elements in urbanization reflects the fact that Hutong culture is gradually disappearing with the city transformation of original old cities being replaced by constant renovation.Likewise,with the development of skyscrapers,traditional old Beijing culture is no longer what it used to be.Old cultural architectures and traditional way of living are gradually vanishing.Surely these problems have got great attention and concern from scholars,experts and scientific researchers.Liang Sicheng's proposition to protect the landscape of old Beijing is the most famous.Many other scholars in Tsinghua University also did relevant research in this field.Research papers and books on culture preservation are greatly mentioned in Tsinghua University's literature resource.Meanwhile,there are also foreigners like Michael Meyer,an American who had lived in Dahilar for three years to experience Hutong life.He observed the old Hutongs which are about to vanish in the long process of history and traditional Beijing backstreet culture which is gradually forgotten by people from a foreigner's perspective.This project uses culture protection as an entry point and utilizes Michael Meyer's prospective to do research about old Beijing Hutong culture on different levels.The content of this project involves sociology,psychology,art design and information technology,etc.A wide variety of methods are used such as field research,comparing analysis,document analysis and data analysis to explore the concept of cultural protection and adjust the modes of protection.With the apply of Html5 and other hot internet-based technology and using Meyer's life in Beijing Hutong as background,users can help Meyer to solve all kinds of emergencies.The process will resonate with the users.This project uses Meyer's The Last days of Old Beijing as research object.Field trips are taken to find out the deepest emotional needs.Not only the user's intentional memory is intensified through words but also unintentional memory.Meanwhile,their emotional experience is improved by rethinking about cultural protection.
