As an important part of Chinese traditional culture,Regional culture has a worthy of heritage and development value.For local publishers,The huge geographical and cultural resources are worthy to been explored and selected.So,for local publishers,It is a worth thing about how to better develop this cultural resources,and how to better operate this topic resource.Though "Suzhou Culture Series" and "Yangzhou Culture Series",what is published by Soochow University Publishing,carrying out a brand publishing route that takes into account both the publishing of college textbooks and the local culture books.Analyzing these books operation in the overall process,we can provide reference for more regional cultural books to been published.This article adopts literature research method,case analysis method and interview method.On the one hand,it summarize and analyze the relevant research results what is already obtained by other scholars.On the other hand,it summarize the characteristics of the operation of regional cultural titles,aiming at the specific topic selection methods of two sets of regional culture books for Suzhou University Press.At the same time,It conducted interviews with relevant staff,who participate in two series of book planning process.It can provide more detailed information for this paper.First,this article introduced the issues related to regional culture,selection of topics,and publishing issues related to local publishing and regional culture.At the same time,it define concepts,such as topics,selected topics,regional culture,and regional culture topics.It can set the range of topics for this study.Secondly,it introduced the status of regional culture books what is published by Soochow University Press.Thirdly,it analysis "Suzhou Culture Series" and "Yangzhou Culture Series" from topic planning,author selection,content requirements,book design and marketing promotion.Fourth,it derived characteristics about the operation of regional cultural titles,through detailed analysis of all aspects.Finally,it provide an overview of the current market situation,and a corresponding suggestion.Through the Study of Two Sets of Regional Culture Books of Soochow University Press,we can find the special of the operation of selected topics,providing more advice for other geographical and cultural topics.
