A Study On The Marital Dilemma Of Urban Youth From The Perspective Of Marriage Market

In recent years,the issue of youth marriage has received much attention,and the discussion on the issue of marriage among older youth is particularly enthusiastic.Studying the dilemma of young people in cities to choose their mate is conducive to avoiding the quagmire of aging and aging in China,raising the marriage rate and fertility rate,and then adjusting the population structure.This paper takes the marriage rate in China as the background,and takes the urban unmarried youth as the research object.Using the marriage market theory to explore the causes of the vicissitudes of the young people in the city from the three aspects of individual basic conditions,mate choice and family environment,and propose reasonable Suggest.This paper combines the quantitative and qualitative research paradigm,using questionnaires and case interviews to investigate 523 men aged 30-40 years old and women aged 28-40 years living in Taiyuan City,Shanxi Province.The author compares the mate choices,living conditions,and mate selection methods of older unmarried youths and married young people of the same age,and also compares gender between older unmarried youths.The multivariate linear regression model was used to analyze the influence of mate preference,mate selection,and individual basic conditions on the dilemma of urban unmarried youngsters.The study found that most of the older unmarried women in the city,and their higher education level also has a certain economic ability,and the dependence on men is weakened.In the process of mate selection,the traditional marriage mode is still ingrained.Women's mate choices are trapped in their own conditions,while men are in economic conditions.The selection of the standardization of mate selection,the small range of mate selection and the mate selection are also affected to a certain extent.Family factors also have an impact on the demise of the younger generation.In order to solve the dilemma of the younger generation,this paper puts forward the following suggestions from the perspective of individual,family and society: the young unmarried youth should strengthen their own conditional advantages,abandon the utilitarian concept of mate selection;fully tap the positive value of the network,broaden the way of mate selection;Wind family training,family members should dare to show warmth,andgradually learn to express their feelings;the government should gradually improve the marriage market management system,crack down on marriage,marriage and deception,strengthen legislative work,establish an official matchmaking service organization;With their own resources,they spontaneously organize various types of youth dating activities.
