Silence is a kind of non-verbal state,and students' silence in class refers to the students' non-verbal communication behaviors in various classroom activities.Students' silence in class is a common phenomenon in today's classroom,but this kind of silence is harmful.It not only affects the development of students' thinking,but also hinders the improvement of students' expression ability.When learning language subjects,the latter kind of harm is particularly prominent.Because of the specific requirements for oral communication teaching in the "ordinary high school language curriculum standard",this paper takes a class as an example to study the silence of students in senior high school Chinese class and put the silence of students in the context of "oral communication in class",hoping to improve the interaction between teachers,students and students in class,promote students' oral communication and reduce the phenomenon of students' silence.This paper uses literature research method to collect data,and uses the method of classroom observation and investigation to study a class of senior one.Five main types of silence are summarized through observation,recording and questionnaires:first,disengagement silence caused by non-participation or inadequate participation;second,fear silence caused by fear of mistakes;third,helpless silence caused by want to express but unable;fourth,forced silence caused by non-self factors;fifth,restricted silence bound by various factors.Through the analysis of different kinds of students' silence,this paper puts forward the following countermeasures: to improve the interest of language learning and enhance the participation of students;to overcome the fear of expression and encourage students to express bravely;to solve the problem of language transformation,so that students can speak freely;to enhance the attention of students,improve the classroom atmosphere,so that students have the opportunity to express;to reduce the restriction of expression and enhance the freedom of expression.
