Secondary vocational school students are less mentally developed,and their ability to identify information is relatively low.Besides,compared with the students in ordinary middle schools of the same age,they have not been paid enough attention in terms of their media literacy by people from all walks of life.Through applying the media literacy audience theory to the research,this thesis studies the media literacy of Shanxi Jincheng Technician College students.This thesis aims at gaining a good understanding of the status quo of the secondary vocational school students,analyze the relevant problems and propose corresponding promotion strategies.The paper summarizes the situation of media literacy study at home and abroad first,and expounds the related concepts of media literacy.Then through questionnaires for the purpose of collecting data,it uses SPSS17.0 to analyze the situation of Jincheng Technician College students' media literacy and summarizes their present problems,and put forward the promotion strategies.Questionnaire results show that the status quo of Jincheng Technician College students' media literacy has the following characteristics: First,they have a certain degree of media awareness,but there exist a media use imbalance.Up to 68.7% of the students use the Internet.Second,there is a certain degree of identification ability,but lack the ability to analyze in depth.Among the respondents,32.4% choose to examine the event more when they find their own opinions different from the media reports,but 44.6% of the respondents could not clearly distinguish between bad and good information.Third,they have a certain level of media literacy,but in a spontaneous state.76.8% of the students said they have never received media literacy education and their media literacy is based on past experience.In light of the problems mentioned above,the third part of the thesis puts forward some promotion strategies based on the interviews.It mainly discusses the four major aspects: students,families,schools and society in the hope of improving students' media literacy.At the same time,due to the lack of sample size and other factors,the paper still has deficiencies and needs further study.
