| Objective:To establish acceptance and commitment therapy intervention program for primary caregivers of children with cerebral palsy,and to explore the effect of acceptance and commitment therapy intervention program on psychological flexibility,anxiety and depression and quality of life of primary caregivers of children with cerebral palsy.Methods:A total of 144 primary caregivers of children with cerebral palsy,who received treatment in Rehabilitation Department of Anhui Provincial Children’s Hospital from August 2018 to April 2019,were selected to be included in this study,and randomly divided into Control Group and Experimental Group according to the random number table(n=72).The main caregivers in Control Group received conventional psychological intervention,while the main caregivers in Experimental Group received Acceptance and Commitment Therapy(ACT)based on conventional psychological intervention.Acceptance and Action Questionnaire Version II,AAQ-II),Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS),and American Short Form 36 Health Survey(SF-36)for primary caregivers of cerebral palsy patients on the first day of admission,discharge,in the first month after discharge and in the third month after discharge,respectively to evaluate the effect of ACT intervention on primary caregivers of children with cerebral palsy.Results:(1)On the first day after admission,there was no significant difference in AAQ-II score in both groups of primary caregivers of cerebral palsy children(P > 0.05).At the end of the intervention,in the first month after discharge,and in the third month after discharge,the AAQ-II score of the primary caregivers of the children with cerebral palsy in Experimental Group was significantly decreased than that in Control group with statistically significant differences(P < 0.05).(2)On the first day after admission,there was no significant difference in SAS score in both groups of primary caregivers of cerebral palsy children(P> 0.05).At the end of the intervention,in the first month after discharge and in the third month after discharge,the SAS scores of the primary caregivers in Experimental Group were significantly decreased than that of the control group(P < 0.05).(3)On the first day after admission,there was no significant difference in SDS score in both groups of primary caregivers of cerebral palsy children(P> 0.05).At the end of the intervention,in the first month after discharge and in the third month after discharge,the SDS scores of the primary caregivers in Experimental Group were significantly decreased than that of the control group(P < 0.05).(4)On the first day after admission,there were no statistically significant differences in physiological function,physiological role,emotional function,social function,physical pain,vitality,mental health and overall health scores in SF-36 in both groups of primary caregivers of cerebral palsy children(P > 0.05).At the end of the intervention,in the first month after discharge and in the third months after discharge,emotional function,social function,body pain,vitality,mental health scale score in SF-36 of main caregivers of children with cerebral palsy in Experimental Group were significantly increased than that in Control Group(P < 0.05),physiological function and physiological role in SF-36 of main caregivers of children with cerebralpalsy in Experimental Group were significantly increased than that in Control Group in the third months after discharge(P < 0.05).Conclusion:(1)Acceptance and commitment therapy intervention can reduce the degree of empirical avoidance and improve psychological flexibility in primary caregivers of children with cerebral palsy.(2)Acceptance and commitment therapy intervention can reduce the anxiety and depression degree and improve the bad psychological mood in the primary caregivers of children with cerebral palsy.(3)Acceptance and commitment therapy intervention can improve the quality of life in primary caregivers of children with cerebral palsy. |
