OBJECTIVE:To investigate the application of serum and follicular fluid Adropin levels on predicting embryonic outcome in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)who underwent assisted reproduction treatment.METHODS:Participants were recruited from Reproductive Medicine Center,Shanghai Jiaotong University school of Medicine affliated Xinhua Hospital and under in vitro fertilization(IVF)treatment for the first time.Thirty patients with PCOS were recruited as PCOS group and 30 women with tubal factors infertility as control group.Serum and follicular fluids Adropin were detected by ELISA.Serum concentrations of estradiol(E2),luteinizing hormone(LH),follicle stimulating hormone(FSH),progesterone(P),prolactin(PRL),testosterone(T),thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH),fasting blood glucose(FGlu),fasting insulin(FINS),tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α),insulin-like growth factor-1,(IGF-1)and other indicators were measured on the second to the fifth day and the HCG day of the previous menstrual cycle.RESULTS:The levels of serum and follicular fluid Adropin were significantly lower in the PCOS group compared with control group(P<0.001).The Adropin level in follicular fluid was significantly lower than in serum(P<0.001).The level of Adropin both in serum and follicular fluid were negatively correlated with the number of oocytes retrieved. The level of serum Adropin was negatively correlated with the rate of multi-pronuclei oocytes fertilized(P<0.05),while positively correlated with the rate of oocytes fertilized(P<0.05).The Adropin,TNF-αand IGF-1 levels of follicular fluid in patients with PCOS have poor prediction on the rate of oocytes fertilized or the rate of multi-pronuclei oocytes fertilized(P>0.05).Conclusion:Adropin level in serum of the patients with PCOS has the correlationship with their oocytes fertilization and will prompt the ART laboratory for early intervention to improve the IVF outcomes to patients. |
