Objective:To observe the characteristics of optical coherence tomography and analysis of visual field in superior temporal branch vein occlusion combined with macular edema.Methods:Thirty-four patients(34 eyes)in superior temporal branch vein occlusion(BRVO)combined with macular edema and sixteen healthy volunteers(29 eyes)were randomly selected as control group from February 2019 to November 2019 in Affiliated Hospital of Chengde Medical College. All patients had the best corrected visual acuity, slit lamp microscope,intra-ocular tension, indirect ophthalmoscope, fundus fluorescence angiography(FFA),spectral domain-coherence tomography(SD-OCT)and automatic static visual field examination. The average retinal thickness in macular area was measured by SD-OCT with automatic zoning technique.Calculate the visual field mean sensitivity(MS)and visual field mean deviation(MD).The correlation between the retinal thickness and visual field MS in two groups were examined by the independent sample t,the relativity between visual field MD and retinal thickness of the macular area was analyzed by Pearson correlation.Results:1 In the superior temporal BRVO group, macular edema can present multiple morphological manifestations such as sponge-like diffuse retinal thickening, macular cystoid edema, serous retinal detachment and mixed type(morphological changes of all models). The average retional thickness of central macular, the temporal side, the superior side, the nasal side and the inferior of the inner and outer ring of the central macular was 398.09±106.69μm,425.06±99.09μm,467.18±89.36μm,402.53±94.27μm,349.47±61.61μm,367.44±98.67μm,440.88±79.37μm,343.32±47.43μm,292.91±40.66μm in the superior temporal BRVO group.Compared with the control group which was 234.21±12.16μm,303.21±14.47μm,317.90±13.81μm,316.59±15.32μm,316.76±13.00μm,269.48±14.19μ m,286.86 ± 11.79 μ m,294.76 ± 12.98 μ m,268.76 ± 13.71 μ m respectively, the difference was statistically significant(all P<0.05).2 There is lower visual field defect in superior temporal BRVO,the lower visual field MS in superior temporal BRVO group and contral group were 18.71±5.47 d B and 27.17±1.18 d B respectively, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3 There is no relativity between the average retinal thickness of the superior hemisphere both in inner and outer ring of the central macular and lower visual field MD(both P>0.05).Conclusion:The macular edema in superior temporal branch vein occlusion presents multiple morphological manifestations and extensive locations occurrence as well as damage of lower visual field.
