Double Dose Ebastine Does Not Influence Positive Reactions Of Skin Patch Tests

Objective:Evaluate the effect of H1-antihistamine ebastine with once-daily dosing 20mg,on patch test reactions。Methods:180 patients with hand eczema/dermatitis from six different dermatology clinics,having at least one strong(++)patch test reaction,were included in a self-control study.Patients received ebastine 20mg once daily for 2 weeks.The second patch testing was performed on day 11,which was read at 48h,72h and 96h after application.The experimental data were analyses by rank sum test of rank sum sample comparison.Results:174 patients were completed with all 5 allergens.184 chambers of strong reactions were observed in the first test,while 174 chambers of strong reactions as long as 5 chambers of mild reactions and 5 chambers of very strong reactions were observed in the second test.There was no statistically significant difference(|Z|=0.31,P=0.757,)when comparing the reaction degrees of two tests.Conclusion:H1-antihistamine ebastine with once-daily dosing 20mg shows no effect on patch test positive reactions...
