Clinical Observation On Treatment Of Qi-stagnation Functional Constipation With Catgut Embedding At Acupoints Combined With Abdominal Rubbing

Objective:This clinical research observed the difference in clinical efficacy of of catgut embedding at acupoints combined with abdominal rubbing on treatment of qi-stagnation functional constipation,verified that catgut embedding at acupoints combined with abdominal rubbing is an effective method for the treatment of qi-stagnation functional constipation,and compared with the oral lactulose,the advantages of catgut embedding at acupoints combined with abdominal rubbing in the treatment of qi-stagnation functional constipation were analyzed,so as to provide a more effective,non-toxic and long-term treatment for qi-stagnation functional constipation.Methods:62 cases of qi-stagnation functional constipation patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into two groups: the catgut embedding at acupoints combined with abdominal rubbing group and the western medicine group,with 31 cases in each group.The catgut embedding at acupoints combined with abdominal rubbing group were treated by catgut embedding therapy once every10 days and rubbing abdominal therapy once a day,treated for a period of 30 days.While the western medicine group were treated with 25 ml lactulose oral solution twice a day,treated for a period of 30 days.We evaluate the score of CSBMs,constipation symptom and PAC-QOL before the treatment,after the treatment and 30 days after treatment to compared the clinical efficacy and safety.Results:1.Dropout: In this study,there was one dropout subjects in the catgut embedding at acupoints combined with abdominal rubbing group,and one dropout subjects in the western medicine group.In the final,there were 30 patients finished the treatment in each group.2.Before treatment there was no statistically significant difference in the scores of CSBMs,constipation symptom and PAC-QOL between the two groups,p>0.05,which showed that the two groups were comparable.3.After treatment,there were statistically significant difference in the in the score of CSBMs,constipation symptom and PAC-QOL of the catgut embedding at acupoints combined with abdominal rubbing group before and after treatment(p < 0.01).There were statistically significant difference in the in the score of CSBMs and constipation symptom of western medicine group before and after treatment(p<0.01),but PAC-QOL scores was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05),which indicated that both the catgut embedding at acupoints combined with abdominal rubbing group and western medicine group had clinical effect,but the western medicine group had no significant effect on the quality of life.4.After treatment there was statistically significant difference in the scores of CSBMs,constipation symptom and PAC-QOL between the two groups,p<0.05.Which indicating that the clinical effect of the the catgut embedding at acupoints combined with abdominal rubbing group was better than that of the western medicine group.5.We followed up the cases 30 days after treatment,the scores of CSBMs,constipation symptom and PAC-QOL of the two groups were lower than before,but the the catgut embedding at acupoints combined with abdominal rubbing group was better than the western medicine group in improving the long-term symptom scores,there was statistically significant difference,P<0.05.6.The the catgut embedding at acupoints combined with abdominal rubbing group effective rate was 93.33%,which was better than that of the western medicine group,the western medicine group effective rate was 83.33%.There were statistically significant difference in efficacy between the two groups(P<0.05).7.No major adverse events occurred in all patients in this study.In this study,all patients in the the catgut embedding at acupoints combined with abdominal rubbing group had no adverse reactions.In the Western medicine group,there was one patient with slight nausea and no other discomfort.The patients were asked to had a rest,and drink a proper amount of warm water.The symptoms were relieved and returned to normal after hours.There was no adverse reaction in the later period and the treatment was completed.Conclusion:The catgut embedding at acupoints combined with abdominal rubbing therapy treatment for qi-stagnation functional constipation can effectively improve patients’ self-defecation frequency and stool character,reduce defecation difficulty degree,shorten defecation time,and can improve the patient’s quality of life,compared with oral lactulose solution,Which clinical effect is more remarkable,and is worthy of clinical application.
