Objective: To observe the effect of electroacupuncture on ST36,we detect the superficial microcirculation blood flow perfusion(MBPU),electrogastrointestinal electrogram(EGEG),and body surface temperature through the stomach meridian of Foot Yangming in patients with functional bowel diseases.So that,we can explore the possible mechanism of bidirectional regulation effect by electroacupuncture on functional bowel diseases,and further provides some experimental basis for it.Methods: 1.Examine the status of the stomach(gastric body,gastric antrum,lesser gastric curvature,greater gastric curvature)and intestines(ascendens colon,transversum colon,descendens colon,rectum)of 80 patients who have functional bowel disease through the gastrointestinal electrograph,and compare the differences of gastrointestinal functionbetween before and after the treatment of electroacupuncture on ST36.The examination included three periods:10 minutes before electroacupuncture on ST36,20 minutes for the treatment,and 10 minutes after the treatment.2.Laser speckle blood flow meter was used to detect and compare the changes of superficial MBPU in four parts(ST37、ST34、ST33、ST32)before and after electroacupuncture.3.the IRRTM changes of four parts(ST37、ST34、ST33、ST32)before and after electroacupuncture were compared by infrared thermal imager.Results:1.Changes of gastrointestinal function statusAfter electroacupuncture on ST36,the gastrointestinal function status of patients with functional bowel disease changed,especially in the mean amplitude and waveform response area.including the gastric body(lead 1)gastric antrum(lead 2)lesser gastric curvature(lead 3)greater gastric curvature(lead 4)ascending colon(lead 5)transverse colon(lead 6)descending colon(lead 7)and rectum(lead 8).Before the treatment,the average amplitude and waveform response area of the functional diarrhea group were higher than that of the the functional constipation group(P<0.01)(1)After electroacupuncture,both the average amplitude and waveform response area of functional diarrhea group were decreased,while the functional constipation group did the opposite.(2)Compared to the indexes before the treatment,the mean amplitude of diarrhea group decreased after electroacupuncture on ST36,and no statistical significance was found in the lead 2 group,while the rest had statistical significance(P<0.05).The decrease of waveform response area was statistically significant(P<0.05).In the constipation group,The mean amplitude increased,there was no statistical significance in lead 1 and lead 7,and the remaining leads were statistically significant(P<0.05).The rise of waveform response area was statistically significant in gastric leads(P<0.05),but not in intestinal leads.2.Changes of superficial MBPU on gastric meridian(1)Before the treatment,MPBU of the functional diarrhea group on the superficies of ST37、 ST34、 ST33、 ST32 were higher than that of the functional constipation group,and the results were statistically significant for the ST33(P<0.01).The superficial MBPU of these four acupoints on the stomach meridians of both groups was distributed in a stepped form,gradually rising from bottom to top.In the functional diarrhea group,the superficial MBPU of ST37 was lower than ST34(P< 0.05),and in the the functional constipation group,ST33’s superficial MBPU was lower than ST32(P<0.05).(2)Electroacupuncture on ST36 increased the local MBPUon ST34、ST33、ST32 of the the functional constipation group(P<0.05)and decreased that on ST34、ST33、ST32 of the functional diarrhea group.(3)Compared to the indexs before electroacupuncture,the superficial MBPU on ST37 of two groups was decreased(P< 0.05).After the electroacupuncture,the superficial MBPU on ST34、 ST33、 ST32 in the functional diarrhea group decreased,and the the functional constipation group increased,neither was statistically significant.3.Changes of body surface temperature on gastric meridian(1)Also,before the treatment,the body surface temperature of on ST34、ST33、ST32 in the functional diarrhea group was distributed in a stepped form,gradually rising from bottom to top,and there existed significant differences(P<0.01).And ST37’s surface temperature was higher than that on ST34、 ST33、 ST32 in both two groups,and there were significant differences in the constipation group(P<0.01),and no statistical significance in the diarrhea group.(2)Compared to the indexs before the treatment,electroacupuncture on ST36 lowered the body temperature on ST34、 ST33、 ST32 in the diarrhea group(P< 0.05),increased that in the constipation group(P<0.01).(3)After the treatment,both group’s body surface temperature decreased and the results are statistical significant(P<0.01).Besides,the body surface temperature of ST34、ST33、ST32 in the diarrhea group decreased,and that of the constipation group increased,but there was no statistical significance in both two groups.Conxlusion:1.Patients who suffer from functional bowel disease of different manifestations behave differntly before electroacupuncture.Specifically,the functional diarrhea group was more hyperactive in gastrointestinal electricity,the constipation group was less active in gastrointestinal electricity,and the functional diarrhea group had a higher MBPU and body surface temperature on the stomach meridian,while constipation group had a lower MBPU and body surface temperature on the stomach meridian.2.Electroacupuncture can perform a positive role in bidirectional regulation according to different states of human viscera function.Electroacupuncture on ST36 can significantly slow down the speed of hyperactive gastrointestinal function in the functional diarrhea group.It can also significantly improve the inhibitive state of gastrointestinal function in the functional constipation group,approaching the normal state.3.Based on the energy metabolism on human meridians,electroacupuncture played a positive role in bidirectional regulation similarly.Electroacupuncture can lower MBPU and body surface temperature of the diarrhea group and increase that of the constipation group.4.The conditions of the function of our Zangfu-Organs can be reflected in meridians.Following the principle of correlation between meridians and viscera,meridians collaboratively involved the process in which electroacupuncture maked adjustments to our viscera function.
