Objective:To develop the Chinese version of the quality of life and evaluate its psychometric properties for patients with enterostomy. In order to provide a scientific and reliable research tool for the assessment of the quality of life of patients with enterostomy in China, and to provide support and evidence for the relevant research on the quality of life of patients with enterostomy. Methods:Based on Dr.Ferrell's four-dimensional model of quality of life and WHO's definition of quality of life and its six aspects, combining the cultural and medical background of China, the basic framework of the scale was formed.Through the literature review and brainstorming method,a pool of items with 3 dimensions and 68 items was formed.Group members discussed each item one by one,and simplified the scale, forming a test version of the scale with 3 dimensions and 52 items.21 experts were invited to conduct the two-round Delphi consultation, combined with two-round small sample population cognition surveys to assist in the revision of the scale, forming a preliminary test scale with 40 items. In the field survey,240 enterostomy patients were tested by convenient sampling method. The critical ratio method,Cronbach's alpha coefficient, item distribution method, correlation coefficient method and factor analysis method were used to further screen the items of the scale.Forming a quality of life scale for enterostomy patients with 3 dimensions and 33 items to be ready for formal investigation. In the evaluation stage of the scale, through the statistical analysis of 212 valid scales, the reliability and validity of the scale were evaluated, and the final version of the scale was formed. Results:The content validity of the scale was evaluated by item-level CVI(I-CVI)and scale-level CVI(S-CVI).Among them,I-CVI was 0.82-1 and S-CVI/AVE was 0.95.Exploratory factor analysis was used to analyze the scale with 33 items.Six common factors were extracted by principal component analysis. The cumulative variance contribution rate was 61.7%.Finally,30 items of six common factors were formed, which belonged to the final version of the scale with three dimensions. The results are consistent with the researchers' assumptions. The correlation coefficients of each item score and dimension score in physiological dimension were 0.566-0.675,Spearman correlation coefficients of each item score and dimension score in psychological dimension were 0.396-0.824,Spearman correlation coefficients of each item score and dimension score in social dimension were 0.463-0.770,and had statistical significance(P < 0.05),Except that the correlation coefficient of item 33 in its social dimension(0.471)is slightly lower than the correlation coefficient with the psychological dimension(0.480),the other entries are more strongly related to the dimension to which they belong. The Spearman correlation coefficients between the physical dimension, psychological dimension, social dimension and the total score of the scale were 0.647,0.939 and 0.845,respectively.The correlation coefficient between the scale and the total score of the calibrated Stoma-QOL scale is 0.756,and the correlation coefficient between the dimensions and the dimensions of the Stoma-QOL scale is 0.282-0.739,which has statistical significance(P < 0.01).The Cronbach's alpha coefficient is 0.921,the Spearman-Brown coefficient is 0.945,the Cronbach's alpha coefficient of each dimension is 0.731-0.899,and the split-half coefficient is 0.757-0.936.The time for patients to answer the scale was mostly controlled within 12 minutes, and the process of answering was smooth. Therefore, the scale has good reliability and validity, and is highly feasible in clinical applications. Conclusion:The Chinese version of the quality of life scale for patients with enterostomy has a good reliability, validity and feasibility, which can be used to evaluate the quality of life of patients with intestinal fistula in China.
